I made a bottle of Lemon Cake juice just to see how it was on its own. Didn't like it at all. Couple of weeks ago I found the bottle on the shelf, I had a spare tank so I decided to give it another shot since it had steeped for a long time. It was still awful. I'm a bit obsessive about not wasting stuff so I kept taking a hit once in a while. When the tank was mostly empty I filled it up with some vanilla. That was another old bottle. I wanted a straight vanilla juice and never really got there. It was a random mix of three vanillas and some sweet cream. It had been sitting around for six months.

The mixture of vanilla and lemon cake was starting to taste OK. When the tank was mostly empty I topped it up with more vanilla again and it was even better. Maybe I've accidentally hit on a something that might work for me, mostly vanilla and cream with a small amount of lemon cake. I've used up all the vanilla mix and I never wrote down the recipe so I'm going to do some experimenting.
Ohhhhh, you need to write mixes down.Just in case.

I think this is the 3rd time you've teased me with your van, and no photo! ;)

And now I want to know the story behind getting banned from Arby's. :D
I wish I had a picture of it!! It really was something. It had this airplane shaped antenna at the front of the roof. Apparently I’m not a good judge of height lol. I hadn’t had it long when I attempted to go through the drive through at Arbys. I did NOT meet the 8’ or below height requirement posted on a dangly sign :lol::lol:. The antenna got tangled up in the sign’s chains. The kid from the drive through had to come out, climb up the hood and disengage me from it. He banned me from Arbys for life. I know I wasn’t actually, but he was that mad lol. It was one of those side drives where it’s just one lane, so there was a pile of people behind me who were just as stuck.

    Different kind of currant.
Thank you. I'm no good at baking. But I know I can ask you, NolaMel and probably Fran when I need baking help. Chanel too. I'm sure there are more here I can ask! :)

    No raisins or chocolate
And now I think I understand Fran's post better. :D

But I still like the name Corinthian Yogurt.

That's good to hear. I was pretty disappointed the few times I tried the INW Lemon Cake. Maybe the mostly vanilla w/ a little lemon cake is the way to go.

Yeah. Actually I was thinking of calling it Mostly Vanilla With A Bit Of Lemon Cake. Unless you can think up a more interesting name like you did for Fran.

I used to get irritated with restaurants that make up fancy names for dishes. If it’s meatloaf why not call it meatloaf instead of Grandma Goofie’s Happy Sunday Plate where you have to plough through the small print to figure out what you’re ordering.

Alright, now I am even more confused. Just looked up black currants. One place said "Raisins, sultanas and currants are all types of dried grapes." Raisins! :D

I have FA Black Currant. Don't recall when I last used it though. Now I need to use it for my Corinthian Yogurt recipe (to be created).

How about Vanilla Lemon Cake. Even Grandma Goofie might approve. :D

And I'm totally with you, if it's meatloaf then call it meatloaf. I don't want to be "that" guy asking Grandma Goofy to translate her menu for me.

I love the blue paint job on your Impreza.

After my '72 Grand Prix, and several speeding tickets, all vehicles have been pickup trucks or very comfy family cars.

My current vehicle is a 1995 Toyota Avalon XL bought from a grandpa down the block from me. Got it in 2012, paid $3200, and it still had the new car smell. It was his deceased wife's car that they only drove on Sunday's to church, the local bakery and back. I just turned 80,000 miles on it. It'll likely last me until I go to the great beyond.

That car became very impractical once I sold my previous truck. I went to Home Depot one day and off a whim decided I wanted to purchase a 4 burner Weber gas grill... when I had to wait 2 hours for the rental Home Depot van to be returned I really had to evaluate my mode of transportation.

I sold the Impreza to a 47 year old man and at first felt really good about it. Then at the title agency he told me he was buying it for his 17 year old son. I asked him, "are you sure?; that's a lot of car for a 17 year old."

About 4 months later I started getting attorney letters in the mail saying I was getting sued for an accident that involved a death. And around the same time, i got a call from my insurance agency letting me know--"we no longer cover the unit".

It seems the kid was speeding and hit a guy in a crosswalk, killing him. The parents or the kid, gave my insurance information. I could only surmise that they found an old insurance card in the car.

Once I provided a bill of sale, along with proof of title transfer, I never heard anything else about it again. It really ...... me off though.

I did end up buying another base model Impreza. I had intentions of fixing it up, but it now just sits in my driveway. I'm probably going to sell it. It's not modified so perhaps it won't get some innocent person killed.

If it is of any help, this is the vanilla mix that I use:
    sweet cream 2%
    vbic 6%
    vanilla swirl 2%
If I mix this with the lemon cake what percent lemon cake would you suggest?
