My youngest got it while she was working part time and finishing up credits for grad school. She’s single/no kids. They let her keep it as secondary insurance when she started school full time (school provided insurance is her primary now). Maybe she should reapply??

That's what we're going to do, and this time I'm going to be on the phone line when she has her consultation with the Medicaid representative. I don't have high hopes though. Getting Medicaid in texas is tough.

That's good to know. I did read that younger people will have more vaccine symptoms since their immune systems are more robust. I'm still waffling and I haven't cancelled my appointment yet as I've been working like a dog all day. On one hand, I can be the crash test dummy to show my family it's no big deal. On the other hand, who knows. Also, since I care for my parents, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea for me to be protected somewhat to lessen their chance of getting it. There are just so many unknowns. I'm giving myself until tomorrow to officially make up my mind...but I'm leaning towards cancelling. Our state is handling it poorly and Alabama got the least amount of vaccine as well. If my parents got it today, I was for sure getting it Sunday. But now I don't know.
I can feel your dilemma. My brother who is a social worker in SW Missouri just completed his second Modera vaccine. He said the first one was a cake walk but the second hit him a little bit. Fatigue, headache and general malaise. He is 61 and overweight with breathing issues at times. He survived the vaccine. Most of the reported reactions are normal responses. It's a tough call for me but I don't have to make the decision for a few months since I had covid already. By then I hope enough people have had the vaccine to make a more informed choice. I already know it will be less effective for me since I have a autoimmune disease and take a chemo drug (6-mp). On the other hand my response to the vaccine may be minimal due to my immune response. I don't know if you participate in Facebook but if you did I could link you to some groups that are talking about the response. Its a healthcare group but you would qualify. The info is valuable since its mostly from nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals giving a first hand response to the vaccine. Hit me up in a message here and I'll send a link.

Good afternoon, all. Not much going on here, at the moment. I had planned on a run to Home Depot, however, I am having a bit of a problem with walking. In stead I am planning on getting to understand the use of my new trail cams. So far I am liking the ease of operation. The set up in the app was also easy. Now all I have to do is copy the photos from the cam to my laptop. Easy Peasy Japaneasy, Brooks Hatlen, Shawshank Redemption.

I spose the reason I asked is that I don't like handling my 100mg nic. I use gloves/mask (even a raincoat!) . I'd probably enjoy experimenting with more recpies if I had to handle it less.
Hmm, maybe a bit overboard, but if that is how you do it don't worry about it. I have an area on the vanity in my bedroom for mixing ejuice. If I spill anything I am next to a sink and have a bottle of Dawn dishwashing liquid for cleanup. When I started DIY, about 5 years ago, it was really stressed in the DIY conversations about the precautions and hazards of nicotine. Yes, I take the necessary precautions but I don't stress over a little spill.

I use 100mg nic too and never even wear gloves. I wash my hands immediately after using and would never be far from a sink in case of a spill. I think the first time I used some, I had on a hazmat suit including goggles. I am not sensitive to it though. It courses through my veins instead of blood. LOL

not sure how it varies. I have been racking my brain. Please explain.
If I mix 500ml of base at 335VG ,135PG and 30MLs nicotine, I have a 70vg base with 6mgs nic. So then when I make a recipe. don't I just add the VG,P and nic together and add that amount of base?
The percentage in your base is constant, but the percentage of flavorings varies from recipe to recipe. Say you mix 100mls of a recipe with 10% flavoring, presumably in PG, and 90% of your base. The mix will consist of 10mls of PG from the flavorings plus 27mls of PG and 63mls of VG from your nic base, so the final mix will end up at 37PG/63VG. There will be a total of 540mgs of nicotine in that 100mls, for a nic level of 5.4mgs/ml. This is why you want to mix your base with slightly more nicotine and slightly more VG than you want to end up with in the final mix.

Or you could be not fussy like me. I do add a little more nic though.

You will love having your base already mixed. It makes mixing so much easier.

Done. Just mixed up a batch of 300ml of 70VG/30PG base with 3mg/ml nic. I'm using sterilized glass tomato passata bottles for now - nice wide mouths and thick, sturdy glass. Caps have a silicon seal.

I can see how much easier this is going to be for experimenting with different flavours in smaller batches.

Thanks for the help @FranC and others who've commented.:thumb:

I see. NOw I get it. What is the answer? How much extra nic and VG in a 500ml base at 6mg. I think most of my recipes are 12-14% except for a few FLV that are like 6%

And, dang, after a week of our HMO's site being, well, obstinate, finally got appointments for both of us for shot one, this coming Sunday!

Okay - Someone else to let "Us" (well "Me" really) the after effects of the shot before I finally get mine . . . :thumb:

Mixing your base at 6.8mgs/ml will give you 5.98mgs/ml with 12% flavoring and 5.85mgs/ml at 14% flavoring.

If you mix your base at 19PG/81VG, a mix with 12% flavoring will be 28.72PG/71.28VG, and one with 14% flavoring will be about 30.33PG/69.66VG.

You probably won't even notice those slight variations. A mix with 6% flavoring, though, would end up with 6.392mgs/ml of nic at 23.86PG/76.14VG. If those numbers don't work for you, you'll have to mix a separate base for your Flavorah recipes.

NOTE: I'm not feeling particularly well today, so some of my arithmetic may be wrong here. Please check my work, someone!

Word is ours will be Moderna. So we'll have reports on both current ones ;)
