I hope to get a modified version mixed tomorrow. It will probably use up what Vodka I have left.

Well, so far not so good... three tosses. I should have known when I saw the May date on them. I clearly made some questionable mixing choices in the beginning . Today is definitely bottle washing.

What’s the most important/helpful thing you learned when you started diy, that light bulb moment when you started to make keeper mixes?

Document in what ever way works for you, but keep records :)

I don't have much of the Vodka left. Guess I don't need any more.

I can't help you with cheesecake ideas since I don't vape cheesecakes. I do have VTA Cheesecake and FW too. I got the FW to clone Glas Poundcake for a friend of my son's. If I understand correctly, VTA doesn't have Graham in it so it might make a good creamy flavor for a pound cake. My son's friend loves my mix and it does smell heavenly.

I used bill’s strawberry cheesecake recipe for quite a while. It was very high flavor percentage. I’ve got two cheesecake recipes steeping along with 50ml of base. I want to eventually try some of the different fruits I got last month with it.

Well the Chefs lemon flavors seem the hit of the day. I'm not big into lemon so didn't jump on the sale. I like it but can't vape it for very long. For that reason it's not my top flavor to mix with. Still holding out for a BCF sale.
Fran, I understand you are not real big on fruits in general, but CF UK does have a bunch (VTA in particular) of fruits I am not familiar with, living here in the US. Several of them look like they might play well with tobaccos, and/or boozy mixes. These are some of the ones that caught my eye today; I will consider ordering this weekend:
    FA Shade (sangria type mixes?)
INW Sparkling Wine (I hadn't seen INW offing a champagne type before)
FA Summer Clouds (described as a light fruit medley, that might be good in sparkling types of mixes)
VTA Snake Fruit (possible tropical fruit style addition)
VTA Bitters (I've been eyeballing this one for a while. Hoping it may be useful a a bitters addition to boozy drinks)
VTA Ginger Root (wanting for that ginger beer note; to be used in creating mule (boozy) drinks)
VTA Fig (I don't have any fig in my stash; and VTA suggests it pairs well with lots of things)
VTA Mangosteen (how can I pass on something labeled "Queen of the fruits?")
VTA Red Date (Not sure on this one; but the "thick texture" description got me, and thought tobacco, and maybe boozy)
VTA Yellow Passion Fruit (I like classic passion fruit (purple skin); and mostly because I am curious how it may differ from the TFA, and FA I already have)
FA Pernoir (an anise/licorice pairing; I like a good licorice, and might be interesting for some boozy mixes)

VTA has still others, that have me curious (Apollo feijoa, Blood Plum, Green Mango, Jackfruit, Mango Juice, Paw Paw, Pandan Leaf), but I had to draw the line somewhere.:blush:

Of course, Botanical Gin, and Tonic are both topping my list.:D
Sorry about that. I accidentally deleted that info before posting. These are Liam Davey's notes (I guess the spellings are a giveaway that the author is from the UK.) He tested both at 2%.
    Thank you, PJ!:thumb::wub:

I don't have VTA or FW Cheesecakes. If you have a plain cheesecake (without graham) it should be very bitter (sour). Better give that VTA a sniff before you mix with it.

Well BCF has at least 3 of those VTA flavors I know of....LOL. The one flavor I want most is Hangsen and Chefs has no Hangsen. I can place just one order and what I want,BCF has

BCF has what I want too but I'm waiting for the sale. I just really wanted to try the two lemonades that they don't carry. I had pudding base reorder on my wishlist or bcf but figured if I can get it for 25% off then why not since I wanted a bigger bottle.

Well if you really want those lemonades it would make sense to get those and a big bottle of Pudding Base for the 25% off. Then just get the rest from BCF.

I'm holding out for a BCF sale too. I have a tentative 7 flavors on my wishlist now with the addition of 2 OOO flavors.
I need more coffee!!:lol::lol: I read that as “the addition of 2,000 flavors”. My reaction? What did I forget to put on the list???!!! Does BCF even HAVE 2,000 not sweet flavors?

I really overdid it on the lemon in one of my mixes. It so happens to turn out that I only like a dainty hit of lemon at super low percentages. I'm considering a dilution and upping some of the other flavors, and/or adding some merengue or something in the hopes it makes it more "dainty" and a bit sweeter, or alternately, drowning it out with rhubarb, I guess.

Really, I kinda think my best bet is like, diluting and upping other flavors but if anyone has a non dilution fix for like, that issue, I am ALL ears. Serve me right for thinking I could improve a Chef's one shot with more "other flavoring." SOMETIMES it's good, but when it comes to lemon rhubarb tart, clearly they know what the heck they are doing.

Chef’s order is done: cherry liquer, gold rum, tonic and gin both in 30ml, banana custard, toffee ice cream, bourbon, brandy, and lemonade clear. BCF order will round everything out when they go on sale. Now, off to MFS to grab a litre of nic while it’s 20% off.

Well, I'm one step closer (my closest yet) to being ready to DIY.

For a long time, I've been going back and forth on the whole weight vs volume ways of mixing and had myself convinced that measuring with syringes, cylinders, beakers, etc. was the best/precise way to go... I have been gathering info on all of the various, inexpensive measuring tools and was about to buy a combo pack of syringes on Amazon... Then I saw a video on mixing by weight... I just bought the scale instead...

See, I'm lazy. I realized that I was about to commit to buying endless supplies of measuring tools, which I'd have to constantly wash, which may fail (syringes) at any moment causing a mess to clean, and I'd have to find places to store all of that crap. Oh, Hell, NO! o_O

I also bought graduated glass dropper caps that will fit my amber 4oz Boston rounds (which I will be storing my nicotine in). This way, I can easily switch out the plain cap that it's stored with, over to the dropper, to dispense from the same bottle easily/cleanly.

Bought a few plastic 4oz & 8oz squeeze bottles with oz & ml measurements on them for storing/dispensing PG & VG (figure, I'll know quickly, at a glance, if I've got enough of both before I start mixing, so that I don't have to replenish mid-mix session). They may double as bottles for unflavored nic base (to add flavors to later), but I'm unsure if I want to bother with that yet. I don't know where my preferred flavoring percentages will be and how high I'll have to mix my nic base, then I'll have to store that (planning on mixing a higher 2nd nic level for stealth mods, so x2), along with my fixed mixes... Yeah, maybe not. :::shrug:::

    So... How'd I do? ;)

OMG, I've just realized what this mix is tasting like. It tastes REALLY similar to tonic water. I mean it's got this bitter astringent thing going. So, I got all excited, I'm just going to add some gin and see what happens.

I was busy vaping it with my eyes closed, trying to figure out what was "off" with it, and like, I'm really glad I got it down, because when I erased "Lemon Rhubarb tart" and my memories of it last time, well, it tastes EXACTLY like tonic water, I don't think I could improve on it even if I had a "tonic water flavor."

This meant I had to get everything out (it's thawing) because like, I have some other boozy new flavors I must try, so I might as well go all in, after yoga and whatnot.
