2 of the grandkids are driving back from NM to go to a Saturday wedding. Oh course they want a little time to visit so they’ll arrive early this afternoon.
They drive because gd Amanda doesn’t go anywhere without her 3 dogs. She has 2 GSD’s. Not sure what dog 3 is but he’s a cadaver dog.

    Hope your today is better.

Wow that was a lot of posts to read through. It is going better so far today. I'm officially busy again. I've had quite a bit of work come in this week already. It feels good to have a little backlog in place again.

Back from getting groceries. Looks like I went at the right time cuz, no people. Sure is hot and muggy out. 84 now. I would be happy to see a stretch in the 60's or even low 70's. Oh well, could be winter, -20 with a foot or more of snow. I'll take the heat and shut-up now. ;) :D

I forgot to mention that last night I went to mix some more bumbleberry and pudding base and totally messed up. I had the flavors added and grabbed the 240ml bottle I use for pg. I think I needed about 9g of pg and squeezed the bottle too hard and added a little over 20g in one shot. I looked at the recipe and tried using the total weight to figure out how much vg to add and tried to get close. I'm not sure how close I got but I'm going to try to use it. I hate to dump that much flavoring.

I've been dripping a new cake mix today. It is not ready for prime time. Tasty.....but.

SSA Milky Caramel Fudge is my only 'unknown' flavor in it.

Initially I thought milky caramel fudge might be too sweet. It isn't which was a pleasant surprise. I get a nice fudge like note but not a sweet one. No caramel, although at 1.5% that is likely hidden by the other flavors. It did add a milky note.

I need to sft SSA MCF so I know what it has going on by itself.

I'll let it sit longer and go from there. Perhaps its one of those flavors that require a longer steep. Or it might turn out that milky caramel fudge was just a poor flavor choice for this recipe.

Every DIY adventure makes for a good learning experience. :)

Good luck with your adventure. I can’t taste caramel in a vape. It just adds an unwanted sweetness for me.
Wondering if you’ve tried the SSA Milky Strawberry yet. I have it but so far untried.

I’ve been waiting for someone to post a recipe or interesting idea for one. Slow day.
I have an idea for you but you will have to mull it over for a bit.......knowing you hate all things sweet what i am suggesting is really not sweet even tho its listed as a candy....ooopps that dirty word.....sry

You were asking for something different that maybe had a mix of different type of fruit flavorings. Skittles has just that. FW makes it but no longer calls it skittles(I have to look up the new name)because of the logo being held by the company. I think FW makes a lot of flavoring for the commercial candies and gums because a lot of their flavoring is just like what you get in the stores.

I usually mix skittles as a standalone anywhere from 2-5% depending on my mood and how much I need to make. It really is not sweet but more of a semi tart type of combo with lots of (what Charlie said) chewed up goodness of different fruit flavors.

If you were to try some and don't like it I will trade you something for it or just ....from you. That way you have nothing to lose.

Think about it....it is different from what you have tried before.

Another fine tip written on a tiny piece of paper... added to the tiny P-of-P folder.

@Zazie, you asked folks to let you know when there were good tips to add to the Tip section of your fine Blog. There have been some today. :)
I know, but they are specific to a particular recipe in progress, and I hesitate to add anything that narrow to the blog. I realize that the information provided can be extrapolated to other circumstances, but I'd still rather link to something general. I'd also prefer not to have to provide multiple links to an extended discussion (although I realize I sometimes break from this practice when the fancy takes me).

That certainly gives me a lot to think about  I will give it some thought. I do have a lot of time to think on it as I won’t be placing another flavor order for some time. Gives me something to do some homework on. Thanks for the idea:)

I am so sorry about Catdog. Losing our furry friends is the worst thing ever. I am struggling with my Joe and take him to the vet weekly almost. He is only 14 and that is not too old for a healthy cat. Massive weight loss led us to the vet. Nothing showed up on bloodwork. Next blood in pee and urine and I hospitalized him (my baby) at a state-of-the-art animal hospital in Atlanta. Still, no diagnosis but the blood stopped. More weight loss and more tests finally comes through, he is diabetic. He went from 1 unit twice a day, not much change, 2 units twice a day and still not much change. His vet wanted to go to 3 units twice a day but I insisted on more bloodwork first. Never, while saving for retirement. did I imagine I would be whittling away at my savings spending it on animals. It is what it is.
I don't like to hear this. Not one bit.

    I guess I should be a sft.

I have the milky strawberry and am almost sure that I tried it and liked it. However, like an idiot, I didn't record any notes on it. I really have to get better at that. I think I tried it at 2% if that helps.
