Good morning!
LOL I won't say my age. :) I am a Virgo though. Off to water the garden and to exterminate the Japanese beetles trying to destroy everything in their path.
When I was a boy, 10 yrs old, and since you're all posting birthdates, that was about 10 yrs ago. LOL.
Anyway, my father brought me from NYC to his birthplace in Trieste Italy. Life changing experience for me.
The family had their property on a hillside overlooking the city, with various fruit trees, many of which had Japanese/Italian beetles chewing on the fruits.
Granted I was only a little 10yr old, but the beetles were to me the size of nickels. My father showed me what they did when he was a kid. Which was to get a very long piece of sewing thread, grab a beetle from a fruit, tie the thread to one of its hind legs, and toss it into the air. Really, it was like a living kite, holding onto the thread as the beetle flew through the air.

@Territoo , early Happy Birthday!!! (In case our paths don’t cross.) Have a great trip to visit your daughter!

I’m heading back north to see Mom tomorrow morning. Last visit, her range (a lovely avocado green, roughly the same age as me ) started acting up, and himself couldn’t totally fix it. So, tomorrow is a six hour drive with a new one in the back of the pickup. Keep your fingers crossed we don’t hit any rain, please.

If that was me... I would do all the grocery shopping and take care of all the finances too. The driving. The cooking. The house cleaning. Whatever it took.

Ya know, we have a good friend from Spain over in the Shiny thread who has been taking care of his very ill Father for a very long time. He loves his father dearly and does everything for him. He does everything to help his Dad live a more comfortable, and happy, life. He never whines or complains about his Dad. And he never, ever, throws shade his Father's way. Ever. If something isn't right, he does what's needed and then some. That's Love.

Javi is da Man and a great Guy to boot. Our world needs more like Javi.

Yes, he seems like a responsible man who is taking care of his father the right way!

We used to do that with cicadas.

I think we’ve done the best we could. It’s wrapped in two plastic painters tarps, one bottom up, and then one top down. Taped down, then strapped to the front of the bed. It would just be a tiring drive for himself if it’s pouring. He’s going in crack of dawn to work so we can leave tomorrow during daylight. Then, we have to get it down a rocky hill into her house when we get there. Kind of tricky if it’s raining. But, she’s so excited about the new stove, it makes it worth the trouble. She called me twice to find out what I was bringing to cook on it first lol.

Do y’all have some fun stuff planned?

Dinner and a movie tomorrow night. Tour George HW Bush Library then grill steaks on Saturday. Just mainly enjoy my daughter's presence. I get to see the grandkitties too.
