Good morning random folks :)Have you any plans today?

My primary care nurse practitioner wants to see me because of the surgery, so I have an appointment with her today. I'll probably go visit my mom afterwards. I haven't seen her since she got back from her vacation.

    I hope all goes well.

I'm not trying to keep anything stirred up. Only wanted to let you know that I agree... some hand sanitizers do have Glycerin in them, ie. VG, as a moisturizer. I have multiple bottles of Equate brand Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer that contain it. I just checked the ingredients on their labels. However, the majority of hand sanitizers produced and used worldwide contain PG...thus the worldwide shortage of PG.

I got a gallon of VG early last year just before the price went through the roof. My previous gallon was half full. The recipe I found for hand sanitizer used VG and I used some for that. Now I'm down to about a quart. Plenty of PG left though.

Where's the price on VG at these days?

I bought 5 litres early on this year and I couldn't get it for less than 45€.....that's about a gallon.

Yes, two jabs Pfizer, three weeks apart. I didn't have any kind of side effects.

Yes, same here, had my first jab on August 8th, they booked me in for second jab August 30th. No side effects whatsoever.

Delta hit here in New Zealand, my 2nd dose was canceled The night before at6pm..not enough staff.

Bit of a B/S story from NewZealand government ATM....truth is we are running out of Phizer, my 2nd jab is booked for 7wks and 6days away and its a different brew. The NewZealand vaccination roll out has been a total balls up from the start. We donated a lot of it to Fiji and other close Islands.before we started our OWN vaccinate roll out.
New Zealand has being VERY LUCKY no thanks to leadership..., we have a bloody great MOAT surrounding our country, it's called the Pacific Ocean, that and our ability to close boarders (easy to do here, NO surrounding countries)has kept us safe until now. delta is the difference.

Delta was always going to arrive here and it did. an infectled Limmonise driver in Australia) (3hours flight away) drives a kiwi to the airport to fly home to NZ,infects him...nek minute,August 7th we have Delta ho hum.
    next day...whole country in lockdown.......

And so it conTINUES in NZ. I live in Auckland,THE BIGGEST most populated CITY here in level 4 (strick) whilst the remainder of NZ is in the lower level 3.

Each time we suffer a lockdown fewer and fewer places (business)reopen.Economey is forked! Oh happy days eh.

I haven’t even looked at VG or PG prices for quite awhile. I use mostly PG so my VG lasts forever.

I'm the exact opposite mostly VG. My PG is just for diluting my NIC except when I do a very light mix.
Makes me wonder whether to up the percentage ratio on your mixes when I try them. Some of the lightness might be down to my heavy VG!!

I've been mixing at 30pg/70vg, seriously thinking about 40pg/60vg or even 50/50. I have been clearing my throat quite a bit lately, thinking it's the high vg. Flavor is my #1 priority, clouds are not. Since I vape dtl is the 40/60 or the 50/50 a good idea?

That could be. I’d try it.

    Morning, mixers.

Still cool and dry here. The cool is fine, the dry is getting a bit much...

I'm very sure it's VG in hand sanitizers (and we have made our own during the "shortage") but I don't claim to be an expert on this. VG is an emollient to keep your skin from drying out from the alcohol.

Wrong sagely one... that FACT is that PG is used in hand sanitizers. Perhaps do some actual research next time.

"In alcohol-based hand sanitizers, PG is used as a humectant to prevent the skin from drying."

    LOOK IT UP!

When I made ours, early on out of necessity, all the recipe links to "glycerin" were to VG. The extra viscosity is a plus. No, I've not bothered to see what commercial makers use. And the "supply chain" for a LOT of things is still mucked up, so it might be hard to know exactly why any given item has spiked in price. Shouting at Vaper,,, hmm.

    VG is also a humectant.

I have been clearing my throat quite a bit lately, thinking it's the high vg.

While I'm mtl, I find any level of VG over 50% gives me a lot of phlegm. So maybe lightening that up might help?

My first go at an Amarula Chocolate Cake is just ok. It's a strong coffee cake with a chocolate note. Vapeable but not quite what I'm after.

I used Amarula at 0.5%, mistake. When I originally mixed this I made a last second change thinking 0.15% or even 0.25% would not be strong enough to hold it's own with the other flavors. I was wrong, 0.5% is too strong, and I knew better too, Amarula lesson relearned.

I went with FLV Chocolate Deutsch, which combined with Amarula is good. There is no coconut note to be found in the chocolate Deutsch. If it's there the Amarula likely covers it up. Chocolate Deutsch is good in this mix but I want something more in the way of the chocolate. Like VTA Chocolate Mousse.

I will leave the cake base as is because I like how fluffy white cake and pound cake work together for a cake. Going to add FA Milk as that does help to tame the Amarula. In my original Amarula recipe (7/8/21) I used 1% FA Milk and was pleased.

I'll add the chocolate mousse and milk to my existing mix to see if that helps push this mix in the direction I want.

For my next mixing attempt I'm planning on the following (depending):

    WF Fluffy White Cake 2.5%
    FLV Pound Cake 1%
    FA Amarula 0.15%
    VTA Chocolate Mousse 2%
    FA Milk 1%

And maybe, still use FLV Chocolate Deutsch if I like the results of my fixes.
