    Somewhere between here and there
Good morning. I actually slept in. I think I have everything for the new WiFi installation now. Turned out that there was a show that my wife recorded that she still wanted to watch. I didn’t realize it was 4-5 episodes. I’m hoping to do the installation today.

I’ve got a couple pods I reviewed that I want to clean out and put away. Of course first it’s coffee, vape, and cereal.

Hey, @ShowMeTwice ”Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time”.
Your post reminded me of something my father-in-law always used to say. He was a master carpenter, totally amazing work. Bill would show us his work and say "it fits like socks on a rooster".

He, my wife and I built our recording studio. It covers half of my basement.

One year my wife didn't know what to buy him for Fathers Day. I said, duh that's easy. She gave me that task. I went and found a rooster and bought a pair of infant socks. Wife said that's brilliant.

I had to go find it to shoot a photo.

The Dvarw I have in use was not dried burned to red or even bright orange. No more than a dull orange. After it sits I can get a couple good vapes. If I try for more I start getting that burnt taste again. I dug out the mag glasses yesterday and used them for the other three Dvarw bases. Helps with the eyes but not with the hands. The coils look good but who knows.

What kind of wire are you using for your coil?

Morning, mixers, and it's a rare sunny Sunday here! :thumb:

Road trip on the agenda, up the Olympic peninsula to visit one of the kids, her b-day. And a road test of my car's new shoes prior to next weeks' trip south :)

Did get most of the latest debris picked up yesterday, the birth of the next burn pile.

What resistance? Is what the mod (or building base) shows near what your target was? Is the wick maybe too tight? That can choke off flow to the center, and the symptoms are pretty much the same - nice for a hit or two, then burned.

I'm just killing time with my vapes and my diamond painting before church this morning. Ive already had 3 cups of coffee, no more or I'll be too wired. It's currently 52 degrees with a high of 67, a possibility of thunderstorms. Spring is coming.

Aha. That was my guess. I never got on with kanthal. When I started with RBA's I was using kanthal. It had an obnoxious aftertaste that messed with the flavor I was getting from my juices.

I switched to SS wire. For me, it was night and day compared to kanthal. Like going from SD to HD. I immediately noticed my juices and flavors were brighter tasting, fuller, with SS316L. It's cleaner wire than kanthal. There is no metallic taste with SS wire.

Do you have any ss316L that you can try in one of your Dvarw's?

Our senses of taste change with flavor preferences over the years. You've gone more "sweet". Maybe the same is true with wire. IDK. Just thinking out loud.

Maybe after you get the burnt taste take the base off and have good close look at your wick. Is it burnt in the center? It shouldn't be with a new(ish) wick. :)

Beats me. Which is it? My wick comes out of both sides and gets trimmed.
That's the Exocet method. It is the reason you are experiencing burnt hits after only a few hits. Or muted flavor.

Your wick is not keeping up in order to maintain sufficient juice flow to your coil. Exocet wicking is very finicky if it isn't 'just right'.

I stopped using Exocet wicking. It doesn't deliver any better flavor versus bunny ear. Rob Fisher came up with the Exocet method and that works well for him. :)

If you think about the Exocet method, specifically with the tails being installed through the juice channels, the channels become the choke-off point for proper juice flow to the coil.

Switch to Bunny Ear wicking. You will notice an immediate improvement and zero burnt hits. Juice flow is then as it was 'designed' to be by the maker of the Dvarw.

The maker of the Dvarw recommends and uses bunny ear. Nearly every user in the Dvarw Facebook group uses the bunny ear method.

Mark Todd shows how to do it in his video. I have the video cued up to play where he shows how to wick a Dvarw. It is, by far, the easiest and much quicker.

I'll betcha dinner that solves your problem! :D

    Excessive-Do-Gooders ruin everything.

    Just Sayin' . . . (Sorry, @Uncle, borrowing that one :D )

I need a new tank that I can wick myself.
I'm using a sub-tank mini because I got a good deal on several of them a few years ago, but they hardly sell the coils in the shops anymore. (OCC blue or the red) and I should be wicking myself. I can rebuild those little coils, but argh.

IDK if the Dvarw is the one I want, but I'm more of a "get 5 of one model and make it work" type of person.
