That's the Exocet method. It is the reason you are experiencing burnt hits after only a few hits. Or muted flavor.

Your wick is not keeping up in order to maintain sufficient juice flow to your coil. Exocet wicking is very finicky if it isn't 'just right'.

I stopped using Exocet wicking. It doesn't deliver any better flavor versus bunny ear. Rob Fisher came up with the Exocet method and that works well for him. :)

If you think about the Exocet method, specifically with the tails being installed through the juice channels, the channels become the choke-off point for proper juice flow to the coil.

Switch to Bunny Ear wicking. You will notice an immediate improvement and zero burnt hits. Juice flow is then as it was 'designed' to be by the maker of the Dvarw.

The maker of the Dvarw recommends and uses bunny ear. Nearly every user in the Dvarw Facebook group uses the bunny ear method.

Mark Todd shows how to do it in his video. I have the video cued up to play where he shows how to wick a Dvarw. It is, by far, the easiest and much quicker.

I'll betcha dinner that solves your problem! :D
What’s for dinner  All kidding aside, that is much easier. I can go for that. Thanks munches:wub:

    Excessive-Do-Gooders ruin everything.

    Just Sayin' . . . (Sorry, @Uncle, borrowing that one :D )

I need a new tank that I can wick myself.
I'm using a sub-tank mini because I got a good deal on several of them a few years ago, but they hardly sell the coils in the shops anymore. (OCC blue or the red) and I should be wicking myself. I can rebuild those little coils, but argh.

IDK if the Dvarw is the one I want, but I'm more of a "get 5 of one model and make it work" type of person.
Just click and it goes right to the video. Did for me anyway. BTW I do love my Dvarws.

I have a couple subtank mini's. There is an RBA head for the STM. It's easy to coil and wick. I don't know if any can still be found though.
    It looks like this...

The Dvarw's are very easy to coil and wick. They make one for MTL and another for restricted DL and DL. There are airflow inserts for both to customize the AF to your preference.

I have a couple sub tanks too. Still have coils and rba’s. I use one once in awhile.

    @AttyPops

@FranC do you recall which Dvarw's you bought from FastTech? I'm pretty sure you have the newer ones with the PEEK chimneys. The Dvarw MTL FL's.

IIRC you bought the MTL versions that came with all the different airflow inserts.

I wicked an existing coil the bunny ear way and switched base on my Dvarw. A whole world of difference. Thanks bunches, SMT
Way to go!!! I'm happy that fixed it for you. :)

BTW, seeing as I won, for dinner I would like grilled swordfish, brown rice and bunches of veggies! ;)

It will be a working vacation but at least I won’t be at work.
Sometimes you work so hard trying to fit so much into a short period of time that the vacation doesn't start until you return to work. heehee I know it is going to look great and help always makes the time more fun.
