Zaz, question for you... Do you prefer a cookie or a doughnut? Or both? Don't ask why! :D
For eating, I like doughnuts just fine, but I'd say I prefer cookies. As for vaping, I've yet to try a doughnut flavor.

Good morning mixers. I had to put together a small outdoor furniture set the wife ordered online last night after work. It came with this little square table with a hinged lid that opens and it took forever to get it together and square so it didn’t wobble. What a pain.

My boss wasn’t supposed to be back until today but popped in around 3 yesterday. He never comes back early.
Probably in a hurry this time since his wife was coming back.

Morning, mixers, and happy Friday :)

Yep, still wet and cool here.No complaints, just reporting the situation. Yeah, as dry as the rest of the west is, we'll take it.

Did get some mixing done yesterday, and those two tanks rebuilt. So dandelion watching for today?

    Somewhere between here and there
Work is quiet this morning which is good because I'm kind of tired.

Ok, so I mentioned the outdoor furniture I put together that my wife ordered. Explain this to me. She ordered this new furniture which was a wicker looking cover over aluminum frame which consisted of two chairs and a small table that opens on top. She put it on the front porch where no one ever sits. What's the purpose of that? I'll never say anything to her about it but seems like a waste just for something to look at. After I got done with the furniture then she saw some landscaping stones she like in a sale advertisement and now wants to redo the stone path surrounding the flower bed in front of the house. My back is already aching thinking about the projects she wants done this summer.

Decoration??? In my experience, some women like decorative things that, ummm... aren't intended for practical use. :D

  I would move the chairs and table to somewhere, like the backyard, where you guys do spend time and explain that's where they make the most sense for y'all to use. But that's just what I would do. YMMV. ;)

Oooooh, I feel for your back! Years ago my wife wanted to place decent sized stones (more like mini boulders) all around our backyard fence line. Thank goodness my brother in law worked for the city at the time. He came over with a truck full of stones. All freebies courtesy of the City.

My wife had a diagram of how she wanted them placed along the fence. It was a wavy pattern and set out a couple feet in spots and as much as four feet in others. All that so she could plant her perennials and annuals.

It was a lot of work but in the end her flower garden did look spectacular. The local city paper even did a story about her garden. My wife certainly had the Green Thumb Magic.

My guess would be decoration too. Never been into it myself.

Sounds like a good time to start complaining about how much your back hurts.

I do have to admit that we did that path about 18 years ago and it could use a renewal but it doesn't look bad at all. I used one of those plastic forms that had different shapes in it and poured concrete to make the flat topped stones. That's another thing, how the heck am I going to get rid of the old stones? I already have a bunch of heavy edge stones in the shed from a previous project.

Also, we already have two sets on the deck. One with six chairs and a long table and another smaller one with two chairs and a table. I can't remember the last time we actually went out and sat on the deck.

My wife enjoyed doing a lot of projects in and around the house on her own (ones not involving heavy lifting). She was always doing something. It made her happy. Before I got married my Pops told me "son, a happy wife is a happy life" (within reason). ;)

Good luck! :D We used to sit in our yard a lot in spring, summer and fall. That was back when I used to enjoy the summer heat.

I remember one year my wife wanted one of those heavy duty all wood picnic tables they have at parks. My brother in law delivered one courtesy of the city. Those were not lightweight picnic tables.

I used to enjoy the summer heat until I hit about 45-46. We loved going to the many lakes to swim and fish. And we used to do a lot of camping too.
We camped every summer til hubs got too sick. We had a nice shady site.

When I was around 11-12 my much older half sister took me to the beach. After going in the water I fell asleep on the beach while sis went off with her friends. Guess you can guess I got badly sunburned. Have not liked the hot weather since.

It's headed to 85° today, slightly cooler than yesterdays low 90s. Then it's supposed to go back down to the more normal low to mid 60s for a stretch. :thumb: Thunder boomers predicted for later tonight. :D

Currently I'm sitting out on our porch. It's nice in the shade with the breeze.

My wife is not tolerant of the heat. The last few years it seems like we go straight from the 50's to the 90's like we did this week. It's a little cooler today but raining. I think this is the longest I've gone without turning the sprinklers on for the lawn. I'm sure I'll have to soon.

Both Dvarws are finally almost empty so I can my last two recipes. I’ve decided to mix Monday

I think I'm going to grab something out of the cabinet to try this weekend. I'm thinking of the raspberry oats recipe you posted.

Ouch! That happened to me when I was around the same age. I fell asleep in our yard next to the pool. My Mums woke me and said you are gonna feel that! Oh boy, did I ever. I think she used a gallon of calamine lotion on me over the next week or so.

These days I always use sunblock/sunscreen lotion.

There is no shade here on back deck unless you open the deck umbrella. Still too hot. Another hour or so and the sun will move to the front of the house. I may try sitting out in the shade but no doubt too hot for me.
