I took the wife to her appt, then dropped her here at home and went to Starbucks. I've been there like twice in 3 years but really wanted one today. So there's nobody in the drive-thru and I breeze in and order a Venti Iced Americano. And a scone lol. That drink has 4 shots of expresso in it and I kind of went nuts! :w00t::w00t::w00t: I've been looking for earbuds I bought a couple of years ago and with the burst of energy looked through my safe like 3 times, my bedroom 3 times, both cars twice and many more places. I haven't done that much in 10 years! Then I hit a wall and took a nap. LOL Got up, went in the bathroom and looked under a shaving kit case and there's my earbuds. All is well in Vegas.:lol::w00t::banana:
After all that I’m glad you found them.

I swore off any more pets after Amber in my pic up there. But life has a way of changing.

Some years ago, Nipper, our cat of 17 years passed away. I told the family, why don't we wait a couple of years, and see if we want to get another cat. I don't know if it's just me, but I have a feeling most cat owners are programmed to take a quick glance down (especially in the kitchen) to make sure you're not going to trip over, accidentally kick, or step on a tail. Well, after the umpteenth time, 2 weeks into my suggested 2 year waiting period, glancing down for a cat that was no longer with us, I adjusted my waiting period.

The whole house had been in a funk, since Nipper passed on. I walked into the living room, where my wife and kids were watching TV. I announced 'It's just not our house, without a cat in it. Take turns checking pet finder and come up with a list of ones you like.' The mood in the house immediately shot up a few notches.

We not only found a cat, but also adopted that cat's best buddy. They weren't from the same litter, but had grown up together in foster care, and had formed a wonderful bond. Didn't have the heart to separate them.

So, we came home with Molly & Odie. That was about 17 years ago. Molly went on to that great cat window sill in the sky, last Oct. Odie is still getting around, a bit slower, but is still the best purrer I've heard, when he gets some lovin'.

Yes, life has a way of changing. We couldn't make it 2 weeks. Biddy is fortunate to be going to a loving home. I have a feeling Amber approves as well.

I was taking Sudafed for my sinus issues the last couple days. I thought I had heard that it made some people edgy or wired. Not me. I could have put my head on my desk at work and taken a nap yesterday. I decided that was enough Sudafed for me. I'd rather deal with the symptoms than be so tired I feel like I can't do anything at work.

I'm with you. Even cold / sinus medicines that are supposed to be non drowsy, seem to make me want to doze off, and function slower than my usual slow. Makes for an even longer work day than usual.

For some reason, this year seems to be worse than most for me, regarding sinus drainage, which makes me cough. Seem to be constantly sniffing & blowing my nose. Seems to be getting a little better the last few weeks though. Maybe the particular pollen that's causing it has run it's course.

    Morning, mixers.

Heat is said to go back up, but only to the mid 80s.... we did have a small T-storm blow through yesterday morning, about a half hour of thunder, lightning, and two drops of rain.

    Ugh. Town run.

It's been thundering here and the air is heavy. Hoping for rain. I did something this evening that I haven't done in decades. Don't be shocked. I went to gym and actually worked out. Eleven whole minutes on an exercise bike. It's a wonder the whole world hasn't come to an end.

I said it before and I'm saying it again--I hate insurance companies. The same insurance company that lost my reimbursement claim also lost the preauthorization claim for my dental work. I think they have someone in their mail room that tosses mail when he gets too overwhelmed. And to boot, they aren't going to pay as much as I thought they would on the dental claim anyway.

I went from despising them to flat out hating them when my work ins company decided to stop covering COPD meds 6 months after I started using them. Guess some accountant realised it would be more profitable in the long term to let people with COPD get really sick.

Then there's the out-of-network surprise billing scam. A member of my family got hit with that one after a medical emergency and almost lost her house. I'm sure those docs care about their patient's health, but then they're fine with extorting and bankrupting those same patients to top up their bulging wallets. It's hard to imagine they walk into medical school with the morals of a mafia street thug, so what is it about the US medical system that turns eager young doctors into soulless monsters?

    Glad you’re feeling better today.

Yes, me too. The sinus thing is more of a background thought today instead of front and center like the last couple days.

I think I mentioned a couple weeks ago that my BiL asked my wife if I could set him up with a vape pen to help him quit smoking. Anyway, it was his bday the other day so I gave him 5 10ml bottles of different mixes to try, a vaporesso swag px80 kit, and three packs of coils. He mentioned that he liked the pineapple that I made for him that he asked for. It was just sugarloaf pineapple at 6% so I made him a 50ml bottle that my wife it going to drop off to him. In the back of my mind I keep hoping that by getting him set up that maybe my wife will become more interested in vaping and quit the cigarettes.

Good luck with that. I know you’d like her to have more interest in vaping.

In a similar boat here. My wife still smokes too. I don't push it, because I know that'll just make her push back harder. I remind her occasionally, that I'll be happy to try and mix up any flavor she'd like, if she ever wants to give it a go. I let it rest there.

    Good luck on your end.

I bought my wife an innokin T18 kit a long time ago with extra coils. The only time she would use it was if we went to see one of the kids at college or something and didn't want to smell like smoke. I have enough hardware to open a store and wouldn't have to add a lot to my nic stash if she took it up. I stocked enough nic in hopes that some day she would make the switch.

I got mine an ego One Mini (I have a ton of the re-buildable CLR coils). Also stocked up on nic under the assumption that she might switch some day. If she doesn't, my nic should last until I'm 140, at present rate of use.

When I started stocking up, I calculated my usage on 20mg. Now I use mostly 3 and 6mg.

Maybe it's the godawful tuition that they have to pay to go to school. I went to one of the cheaper state universities, prior to when the universities were allowed to set their own rates and came out 10s of thousands of dollars in debt. I shudder to think what kind of debt these students are racking up these days. My daughter probably has more debt for her undergraduate degree as I did for my medical degree

Also keep in mind the "rates" the doctor sets isn't anywhere near what insurance or Medicare actually pays. The doctor has to artificially inflate his rates to get the maximum out of third party payers, which sucks for cash pay patients. It's all a game and always has been. I have one dental policy that pays 30% and another that pays 50%, so you'd think my share would be 20%, right? Nope. The two insurance companies actually collude and although I pay ,essentially than if I had only one policy, I'm paying a lot more than 20%..
