The frigid parts of winter are expected. Warming up to the 40's is not expected.
Historically in my state the temperature average for January is 20°F/-6°C. My neighbor lady here in the city said it's been in the mid to upper 30s and some 40s for most January. Even up north it's been a milder winter with less snow.

Farmers here are concerned about the temperature swings and lack of snow. We have about 1/3 of the normal snowfall that we would normally have by now. Temp swings adversely affects crops.

    Basically the same thing here.

Where I'm at, anything is to be expected... from negative temperatures to the eighties. And it can happen within a week...remember the Texas freeze of 2021. Everybody talks about the fact that the electrical grid couldn't handle the cold, but nobody mentions how warm it got afterwards.

That too much of a temp swing for me.

I'm clear of Covid now. A week since I had a positive test. Still a bit short of energy, probably from a week of hardly eating anything. I was busy most of today and by the time I took the dogs out for their evening walk I was struggling.

Two other couples and one single guy who were at the wake where I picked it up got infected. One of the couples are around 90, nobody has heard how they are doing. Only about 1/3 of the people there were from the neighborhood so there could be a lot more out there. We did a family Christmas dinner here and went to some other family events. Various events at GGD's school, and other socialising. We had quit worrying and stopped wearing masks.

I guess it's still around. They say the current strains are more infectious but less dangerous, especially if you got the shots. They also say you can catch them more than once.

    Glad to hear you’re recovering.

    Morning, mixers.

Claim is we'll break into the 40s today, so close to "normal".

Weird weather patterns all over the planet.

Exactly as predicted. And yes, wild weather swings are tough on crops. But, hey, who needs to eat?

    Email from NomNomz............New Flavorah flavors.
I saw that but really didn't see much I was interested in. Not to mention, my flavor cases are bursting at the seams. I haven't bought new flavors in a while.

    Yeah, I'm not even tempted.
