Maybe back off the Koolada? Might be overpowering the berries.
Should be only cooling and no flavor. My total mint, menthol and koolada with fruits is 1%.

I do that except when I forget. When ordering flavors...it's probably a good idea to write down somewhere WHY you wanted those flavors.

Good nameI'm gonna call it one tank half gone![]()
I want the FLV Rum Raisin. That just sounds really good to me.

lemon, grapefruit or cranberry maybe. The raspberry and blackberry are sweet.
Lime is very nice with dark berries too.
I don't have either from FW, but imagine if they aren't candy citrus 1% would be a good starting point. Fa dragon fruit 1-2% would be good as well.I dunno. I think I'm getting plenty of berry, just sweeter than I expected. And I'm getting just the right amount of coolness, not sure if I want to back it off if I don't have to.
I have both lemon and lime now (FW I think). What do you think for a touch of tart with the berries? 1%?
With some brands yes.A tiny amount of lemon can brighten fruit. I mean like .15-.25.
View attachment 746975 Hey all need some help. Found this recipe few weeks back for a tropical e juice. I’ve been testing it since 5-13 and I’m just not getting anything tropical about it.Nothing stands out to me. Any ideas on how I can save this?
I did get a Inerwa Pineapple since I made this. Not sure if that could help. Thanks
@Letitia What Grapefruit do you consider the most tart.
Good idea. Start low. Easy to add. Hard to take away.I dunno. I think I'm getting plenty of berry, just sweeter than I expected. And I'm getting just the right amount of coolness, not sure if I want to back it off if I don't have to.

Oh,thank you much. I'll leave the FW Ruby Red but get the INW White or more FA. LOL on the cactus.FA is tart and authentic. INW White Grapefruit is also tart and heavy on the bitter zest - in a good way. My favorites are FW Ruby Red and FLV Pink Guava as they are juicier (FA and INW are pretty dry) and full of wonderful zesty sweet/tart flavor. If you want tart, your FA should be good but you need to add some yucky cactus.![]()
OMG.I sympathize,I dislike Ry4d.I got my last Wizard Labs order today and I must have been high on my boozy vapes when I placed it. I wanted 120mls of TFA Raspberry Sweet and 10mls of Ry4 Double. I ended up with 120mls of RY4 Double and 30 of Raspberry Sweet. Not even close. I have zero use for the RY4 Double. ZERO! What am I going to do with 4 ounces of that stuff? I got small of bottles of TFA Mojito and TFA Havana Mojito which I need to single flavor test. I have high hopes for those - maybe too high. LOL
I might have to try this also. Thank you! Some random thoughts for you, @Fidola:
-- There are 25 Jungle Fever recipes on ELR. Of those 25, the single most popular recipe has only three people who liked it enough to enter a rating. Only 9 have any rating what so ever. I would question if this is really a recipe worthy of my time.
-- Hardware influences flavor. Make sure you are trying higher and lower power/temperature settings (if using a regulated device), and also airflow restriction (from wide open to nearly closed; if available on your Atty), as you are vaping your current mix. If you have different atomizers, you might want to try it in a couple of different ones.
--The Sweetener is much too high. I would at minimum cut that back to 1% or even 0.5%. Better still; I would first mix this recipe without it, then test vape a little, to see if I even wanted it. Sweetener is easily added to a finished mix, and doing so can give you a good idea, how it might help/hurt a recipe.
-- Looking at this, and then ELR, I am guessing that this is a screenshot of the recipe as you adapted, saved, and mixe) it. None of the public Jungle Fever recipes use CAP-Golden Pineapple; instead, call for TFA Pineapple (EDIT: I take that back; there is one, posted by crixx, that looks like your copy. They didn't even give it a rating... I would not have chosen to mix). CAP-GP, at 10% is high, even for a stand-alone. I would cut that back to 5% (or even 4%) and try again.
--Once the pineapple is in line for the concentrate you are wanting to use; I would probably adjust the coconut, and mango, as well. I would start with the TFA_Coconut at 2.5% (Note: TFA Coconut is not the same as TFA Coconut Extra; pay attention to which you are using), and the TFA Mango to 3.5%.
So, with all that taken into consideration, I would make my first trial this way (a 10mL sample size ought to be plenty):
4% CAP Golden Pineapple
3.5% TFA Mango
2.5% TFA Coconut
(no sweetener)
This should be pretty much shake-n-vapeable; though the mango may take a week or two to fully bloom.
I would not make any adjustments to recipe for at least a week (2 would be better). Then, based on how it has settled, and what I wanted from it, I would consider the following:
-- If any flavor(s) is/are too dominant; lower the one(s) that's too strong (vs. raising the weaker one(s)).
-- If it is lacking sweetness; now I would consider the addition of TFA-Sweetener at 0.5% (or CAP-Super Sweet at 0.25%). (remember to compensate for the volume you already vaped)
Disclaimer:
It has been a while since I worked with any of these flavors, so please keep in mind this is coming from my pathetic excuse of a memory. Follow at your own discretion.![]()
I love these simple mixes that turn out well. This one’s inspiring me to do one to my taste starting with your berries. I LOVE real berries! Often times they replace a meal for meAnd finally I made that berry mix I was talking about the other day. Ended up with:
6% FW Raspberry
3% FW Blackberry
1% Koolada
No EM or sweetener, I've seen quite a bit lately from some forum members who don't recommend them, especially for new DIYers. Went ahead and put some in a tank and now vaping it. Yay for something that isn't apple! And it's good, sweet enough without sweetener. I was worried that the berry flavors would be too tart. If anything I'd actually like a little more tartness in the mix. Maybe a touch of lemon next time?
