I mixed up a Pina colada V2 CAP at 8% Jamaica rum FA at 1.75 % and Whipped Cream FLV at 1.75 %

Doesn’t taste much like any Pina colada that I’ve ever had. Really disappointed. Any suggestions. Pina Colada shouldn’t be this difficult.

Is it just weird tasting or lacking somewhere? I think I would rather just get coconut and pineapple flavorings and make my own instead of using a premade Pina Colada flavoring. Kinda like buying those ready made drink mixes at the grocery store, you never know what it's actually going to taste like.

I’m thinking you’re right. I’ll make my own mix can’t be any worse than this unless it just needs steeping?

The Jamaican Rum is very sweet. Try you new mix with VTA Light Rum. Just my opinion of course.

So, in other words, you made:
    Dennism's Irish Cream
    2% Irish Cream (FW)
4% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (CAP)
    1% Kentucky Bourbon (TFA)
    1% Caramel (CAP)

The only thing I would do right now is double up on the Irish Cream (for a total of 4%). 2% is rather low for that specific concentrate unless only using for an accent (based on the few recipes I was able to find).

Then, before I did any further tweaking, I'd let it steep for at least 2 weeks (3 weeks would be even better). After that, if I still thought the cream needs support, I would then look at other creams I had.

Cream Fresh (FA), Vienna Cream (FA), and Cream (FLV) Sweet Cream (TFA), would all be possibilities.

I found this one on ELR, that looks similar to what you are doing (with the addition of chocolate, and minus the extra booze):

The few user reviews attached were favorable... and reinforced the need for a steep.
    :)
I added another 2% of the Irish Cream, waited a few days and it was an immediate improvement. Before the addition it had already been steeping for 5 weeks. Thank you very much for the help.

Try this - it is delicious!!!! I know that the list of ingredients is rather daunting but it takes the layers of both the pineapple and the coconut to get the flavor just right. This is Dave Bellow's (ID10-T) If You Like Pina Colada's Recipe with a few adjustments with flavors that weren't available when Dave created the recipe. He approves of my changes, BTW.

    My Piña Coladas
    FA Coconut 2.5%
    FA Cream Fresh 2%
    CAP Golden Pineapple .80%
    VTA Light Rum 1%
FA Jamaican Special (Jamaican Rum) 1%
    FA Lime Tahiti (Distilled) .25%
    INW Pineapple 3%
SugarDaddy Sweetener (or whatever you like) .5% (optional, but this one is slightly less sweet than Dave's without the Coconut Candy)
    VTA Sugarloaf Pineapple 3%
    FLV Sweet Coconut 2%
    WS-23 30% or Koolada (I use .5%)
Shake and vape but better with a 3 day steep

NOTE: You could probably drop the CAP Golden Pineapple and not miss it much.

I’m back! Was in the hospital since last Tuesday. Excruciating pain pancreatitis & gall bladder. Had surgery last Thursday. Pain like no other started Memorial Day night. Good thing I got my flavors orders in before. Still recovering. So I’ll be reading along until I’m recovered.

I don’t have guava... knowing you like it (aka NOT sweet) puts it on the list!!
Just an FYI; if you are referring to FLV Pink Guave, it has a distinct "grapefruit" note that dominates it. I don't get much actual guava from it. That said, it is still a tasty fruit concentrate, and worth considering.
This is a link to one of @PJReid's comments about it.

I agree with giving your recipe a week or two. If that is one of the CAP SilverLine, those can be slow starters.

If you are looking for more of a one-shot option; INW Pinacolada (spelled as one word) is worth a try. It is a good "basic" colada, that can easily be bent in whatever direction the mixer chooses, by additions of pineapple, coconut, booze, creams, and/or fruits. Though it is serviceable on its own.

As a stand-alone; I find 6% works for me. It also seems good to go after only 3 days. If I am using it as a base, I will drop it to 4%, and then add my enhancers. The enhancers will dictate any additional steep required.
    :)

So sorry to hear that. Hubs had acute chronic pancreatitis, said the pain was like a 300lb woman in high heels standing on his stomach.

Oh, you poor thing. I am so sorry to hear this. Tea and sympathy are all I can offer. The scones and clotted cream are bad for pancreatitis. :(

It is stored with my grapefruit flavors. Definitely lovely, luscious, juicy pink grapefruit.

All the reviews I have read (and my own limited use), all use FLV Pink guava at very low percentages. I have never seen anyone mention trying it at a higher % to see if they can get a truer guava taste out of it.

CAP Sweet Guava seems to get a fair amount of love. I have bought some (to make ConcreteRiver's Fiestas & Fiascos); but have yet to try it.

    What an awful experience!

I am glad to hear you are on the mend. I hope you have a quick (and uneventful) recovery. Get well soon!

    Somewhere between here and there
I mixed a sft of cap cup a joe at 6% five days ago and am trying it. It’s a slightly sweet light coffee at this percentage. Not bad but doesn’t knock my socks off. I might let it steep longer to see if it changes. If not I might go up a couple percent. I’m trying it on an ammit mtl rda so probably should compare it in one of my normal daily use tanks.
