Morning, mixers. Rain is said to be ending for a bit, so probably back out.

Starting to get our first "crop" of the season gathered.

Just spinach and broccoli for now, others on the way :)

Good morning. Back to work today. Yesterday didn't feel like Memorial Day although I did cook BBQ pork chops. I also went to the store for everybody and ran Mom and Dad's groceries over to their house. Then my son and I went to Ace Hardware to pick up some AC filters. I've been using a filter with too high of a MERV rating causing reduced air flow in my system. I picked up a cheap fiberglass filter and it immediately helped my system cool better. Live and learn. I wish my company would tell me when I go back to work...tired of waiting. Covid cases are increasing in my state so I'm not thrilled about having to go back to work.

I don’t blame you. It’s scary going back.

I saw maybe two people wearing masks yesterday besides us. I think everybody just doesn't care. Makes me want to stay home even more. I cannot get this virus...I take care of too many people.
Most folks here wear masks still.

I had an hvac guy tell me to not use those high dollar filters. He said if you do then don't use them for the three months like they say. You still need to change them monthly. At least that's what he told me. I just use the medium grade filters and change them like clockwork the beginning of each month.

Masks are required when I go back to work. We will also get random covid testing, have to participate in covid tracking (I'm already doing that), and more rules. If you don't comply it can be grounds for dismissal. Since I have my own office I can see me going into work and hanging out in there with my door closed (also recommended). I'm glad my company is taking this seriously.

I’m glad you have an office to yourself.

My eyes were bulging last night I did so much research. I have found they all have different opinions for sure. But I think you are doing it right. I also bought a MERV 8 filter along with the fiberglass filter to play around and see which one performs best. I was using MERV 11! Way too high but I wasn't paying attention when I bought it. It also depends on the size of your return ducting which they say is almost always installed too small so a lower MERV rating is best. I could immediately tell a difference with the fiberglass filter. Interesting to me. They all say to never use a 3M filter as they are the most restrictive of all. I am a stickler for changing mine as well. I picked up some filters for Mom and Dad and they also use the fiberglass.

It seems - to too many - that their "right" to party is more important than anyone else's right to health.

Orwell was right, some pigs are more equal than others. (Animal Farm) :grr:
My brothers and their wives are NOT taking this seriously and regularly go hang out with Mom and Dad. They are about to get an RJ chewing out (not pretty!). Mom and Dad won't say anything to them but they are scared. I even nicely mentioned it to my sis in law but she still didn't listen to me. My brother thinks it's all ridiculous. But no matter your own opinion...you have to think about others. No wonder cases in Alabama are increasing...:glare:

If they want to expose themselves them that’s their choice but they shouldn’t expose others .

I truly don't understand why companies want people who can do their jobs just as well from home to return to the workplace.

I had my first ever Microsoft meeting online today. It was covering some online and in person training that I am required to do. It only ran about 20 minutes which was about the right amount of time to keep someone's attention.

I wish they would send some of the people I work with home to work. Not for safety, just because I'd rather they weren't here.:D

It's still a little hit and miss but I had stuff left over from last week that has lasted me through the morning and I've got a couple others I haven't looked at. It would be nice to have a steady flow instead of being weeks backlogged.

I am betting there are some managers and business worried about "overhead costs" and building costs vs. IT costs or whatever. I personally do not see how, like, if you work for a call center or tech support or all that type of thing, why one cannot like, do ones job from home but eh, what do I know.

I am torn on the social gathering things it is rather unconstitutional IMO but I probably wouldn't be gathering ANYWHERE at this point since like, you are supposed to (I think the latest stats are like, 10 days after no fever) you stop shedding virus. I think people should have the option but no, they should not all go and sit with elderly people without any protection, they should freaking skype those people. Go in your mask the next time they show up and like, tell them off in front of the parents, and get them to agree to say they are scared by this behavior. They are the only ones who can make it stop.

I will say if this is a medium case of COVID (which it appears to be) well, I would not wish it on ANY person just for the sheer...… oy, length. But I still don't think I'm dying any faster than we all die each day. Be positive @*RJ* you are taking all the right steps.

I hate grocery shopping it's very hard to maintain the distance at times and I am always the one moving .I would use Walmart pre-shop but the husband freaked me out about it by like, things being missing but still debited to your card, and whatnot, and it sounded like a mess. Otherwise I would use it, Walmart is the only place I go besides CVS drive through and doctors appointments. I would hang one of them signs on me front and back that said, "SIX FEET I may be positive!" But I'm scared I'd get arrested. I am, in fact, I believe ALMOST cured of my hermitage. What I would not give for an AA meeting or a job I felt well enough to go to. Bleugh.
