So as I understand it, it might be several months before they finish the process of checking you out and you actually get to go there. Will you be starting the process with other jobs in the meantime just in case? And will they be needing references from your last job?

Listening to this saga just makes so glad I don't have to do that any more. I can remember looking for work when there was high unemployment and the employers had the upper hand. One place did a 4 part interview process over 10 weeks, narrowing the list down each time. I got a call one day from a manager there saying I had been accepted for the final interview, they were down to the last 3 applicants. He told me they had already decided to hire me but their procedures required them to do the final level of interview. He may have been telling the truth and it was a great job with good money but by them I had been working somewhere else for several weeks. I figure the only people who were still available after 10 weeks were the ones who couldn't get another job, so they shoot themselves in the foot with this stuff.
Same where I work. So many rules and red tape that it takes forever to hire anyone. Even if you know you are hiring internally, you still have to go through the process of interviewing top applicants even external ones. That part makes me feel bad...get everyone’s hopes up when you know who you are going to hire. :rules: We have a hiring freeze for the foreseeable future. No raises any time soon either. Thanks Covid...:( On a brighter note, today is the 3 month mark when I’m eligible for retirement. I’m almost there! I never thought I’d get there. 25 years is a long time. But I made it...almost! I’m not retiring though. :)

Technically on June 3rd I will have 24 physical years in, but with my saved sick time I can retire early. Woot!

Recently I restarted cloning a retail juice called Nectarcus. It's really good. @NolaMel turned me onto it last summer. It's a very smooth nectarine/custard (plus). There are other flavors in it. Strawberry for sure. Orange possibly. They are using CAP Vanilla Custard v1 (can't mistake that taste).

I have a few 5ml testers going with some different ideas in each.

Dripped some of each today and one in particular really stood out from the pack.
It has the following:
CAP Vanilla Custard v1
FLV Nectarine
FA Juicy Strawberry

It's not Nectarcus per se but it is good. Very refreshing. I'm going to work on this one on it's own for something "other than". Need to work the flavors better so they lay/sit where I want them.

Two of the others are close to Nectarcus but not quite there. Yet.

Bought some real nectarines for taste testing. Fun project. :)

A remedy for bad sunburn, that we old Floridians let the tourists know about...is to liberally apply apple cider vinegar to it with a sponge or washcloth. Repeat several times as it dries. It definitely stinks, but sure takes the heat and pain out of a sunburn. You can always shower after you've given it a chance to take effect.
Thanks JC...it hurts so I may try it from a spray bottle. I have found coconut oil also works. I’m a coconut oil freak though and it works for so many things. I’m sure my son would not enjoy rubbing oil on his Mom’s back...

It's usually like, once every 6 to 8 months now, but it was more before. Don't beat you up, life is hard enough.
Thank you Anna... yes, that's exactly what is going on. I would easily (and happily) only need vape but my stressful situation will not let that happen) Not sure but think my wife and I will get a stimulus check ($2400 married filing jointly) That would solve my issue (at least temporarily) and I would get the F out of here! I don't care if I have to rent a storage and go through hard times for awhile... I need to live my own life (for better or worse) I can't continue living with my 81 year old neurotic "control freak" mother (sorry mom... tried to make this work but you never stop... I never have a moment of peace... I'm not 16, I'm almost 60) Sorry for the rant folks.
P.S. I miss my wife too... she is stuck in another living situation in the mountains (were we lived for over 10 years) and also losing her mind. I'm sure we would both be happy living in the cheapest crap-hole 1 bedroom apartment right now.

You are really late getting that stimulus money. Hope it comes soon. The later payments are sent by debit card so check all mail.

We are starting the process for me to retire on my birthday in November, I have 42 years with my employer although I am on disability now. I'll be 65 then so it's time.

A tentative job offer does have certain rules attached. Believe me, once you get the process down, applying to new jobs is not hard.

However, there are really rather specific things that disqualify you from a job offer, like you lied up front, you falsified records, you molested a child, that type of stuff. They really.... I know Federal jobs you CAN and MAY apply for as many as you want and I suppose tentatively try for as many as you want and I am not saying I would rule it out of hand. It probably would not hurt.

They want references from my employers I am sure, but I will be letting them know my supervisor does not provide references per company policy. I will be happy to offer them my annual review which was before the supervisor got crazy out of hand, but will merely be informing them it is my preference they speak to two coworkers, both doctors, who both adore me, and who are going on my reference form.

It is not "unusual" for employers to specify they won't provider references but all the ones I have are good, so I don't see it being a gigantic problem, honestly. All the employer is legally able o state about me are my dates of my employment and resignation which I will explain is occurring due to the absolutely insane living situation we find ourselves in and our need to consolidate, sell the house, and well, get things going if they even ask. Which if they do, this is how I will answer. It will also be my answer that I am leaving AZ no matter what.

The idea of accepting several "tentative" job offers and all that makes me feel a bit lame although I have read on website boards there is nothing they can do to stop you from doing so. But I would also feel a bit bad for someone else who might get the offer and I would only do it for a job I would TAKE.

I mean you have the right to amend and contest offers, it's not really like a "We kind of want you" it is "we are about to invest money into investigating you." Seems a bit unfair to other healthcare workers also in similar situations.

This is also why I like, have to get on this stupid form although I have until whenever today to do it. My vary favorite doc, who is a sweetheart was similarly abused, and whatnot. She's not going to say anything negative about me OR the company we both spend over an hour couching each other in that. LOL.

It is not atypical in the health field to have coworkers or team members provide a reference for you. Yes you nee a supervisor or two, but not all of them and often not the FINAL job because you may not want them to know you are leaving. I just gotta type this sucker up. Soon. Gah.

Oh no...I’m working. The longer I stay the better the retirement payout will be. I figure I’ll retire in 5 or 6 years when I’m nearing 60. But it depends on a lot of things. If my parents need me full time I’ll retire. If I get married I’ll retire and travel. If I become ill for whatever reason I’ll retire. Some days I didn’t think I’d make it but I kept looking at the big picture and stuck to my long term goals. I went through 10 years of hell boss, and other stuff. I had fun too though. Three.more.months.

You can do it. This 2-3 month wait is a good thing. Would be a real bitc- if they wanted you there next week
