My first batch of nic got used up. The nic I'm mixing with now is clear as a bell and I bought it from ECX 7 years ago.

I purchased my second bottle of nic from ECX (250mls of 100mg). It's always sat in my fridge because I started using it immediately. I have been working on that bottle now for over a year. I will say this about it, I like it better than PurNic from River Supply. It's very clean tasting with absolutely no off notes detected. I have really enjoyed using it and I hope all the other nic I have is of the same quality.

I've always found it amusing that when someone is looking for nic, ECX is never mentioned. I love their nic.

Did we miss your birthday? We did didn't we? I can't remember. If so...Happy Birthday @rosesense :bday:

Thanks, @*RJ* , it was on the 10th.

Those firefighters reminded me of when 4 of us went to see Chippendale show. I never laughed so much in my life when one member of the group almost had a heart attack when one of the dancers slid across our laps lol.

I guess I should have looked it up myself, but this is what I did when I bottled up my nic. My "logic" told me that it would be best to shake it up and make sure the nic was evenly distributed.. maybe I'm wrong? I hope not
That is kind of what I was thinking. I thought since I was breaking it up into smaller bottles, shaking would make sure each of the bottles gets the same strength.

I personally don't. I see on Facebook in the DIY groups I am in that people say, "shake the hell out of it". My mindset is that it traps a lot of unwanted oxygen in the pg or vg and I think that is a vector of sorts for oxidation.... but don't go by my word. I can be pretty .... about certain things.
I never really thought much about how shaking would add more oxygen to the process. That is something to consider. I guess, I figured that since I would shake it up before I unsealed the nic, that it wouldn't be an issue.

First of all the nic is a solution not a suspension, so that once it is mixed, it stays mixed. No need to shake. The last drop has the same amount of nic as the first. Secondly, shaking, even before unsealing introduces air bubbles into the solution, increasing the chance of oxidation. Even an unsealed bottled has an air gap at the top. I never shake my nic.

Here's Ty from Stixx Mixx. Around the 57:00 mark they talk about steeping. Ty says they are pre-steeped and can be used immediately. He seems like a cool dude.

Yes, I know he says that but it changes nothing. They are better after a month's steep.
