I am in tears. Our beloved Kai just died unexpectedly... and I don't know why.

I'm so sorry about Kai, Skeebo. I know exactly what you mean about being in shock because there was no apparent reason for his passing. Been there myself a year ago last Feb. 17th.

I know it has been two days but thank you for the birthday wishes. The hurricane was much worse than we thought and I still have no power, there is a tree on my house and the data on my phone is super sketchy which is why I didn't thank you sooner.

I will be back eventually :)
I hope you get the tree off and electricity back soon. Are the crews for either in your neighborhood yet? I know our neighborhood fire dept is over there doing tree/line removal.

Good morning everyone....

I am in tears. Our beloved Kai just died unexpectedly... and I don't know why. My wife got up this morning and made the coffee and he did his usual looking up at her, and laying back down in front of our bedroom door. I got up and he usually follows me outside and when I looked over at him I saw a pool of urine forming around him. His eyes were open but he didn't respond...

I am heartbroken...

That’s awful. And unfair. And I so wish it didn’t happen to you and yours. Sending big hugs.

I was a bit productive today. I got my Potato Salad together. We'll have it tomorrow with steak that SIL will be cooking on the grill. Today I'm making a dish with leftover ham.

My plans are to finish the recipes I'm working on so I can mix Monday. I had hopes of adding another cheese flavor but the Cottage Cheese is a flop. I mixed it at 1% and I'm losing interest in it already. It doesn't even have a hint of cheese so I don't think adding more flavor will help. That's ok cause I won't be curious anymore. The Mascarpone and Brie are both excellent cheese flavors and I can be happy with those no problem.

A have a question. I get a PM from a contest participant asking me to upvote her post because she really want to win. Apparently the winner of the contest will be decided by how many likes each post gets. What would you do?

That's exactly what I did. But it still bothers me.
I saw that contest and decided not to enter precisely for that reason. I couldn't go with upvoting as the basis for the win. (not to mention I lurk too much to be able to get enough people to upvote for me LOL!). It just didn't seem right to me, kind of junior high school ish.

It's too late now. The winners have been announced. Also @rosesense got a Xros as a consolation prize.
