Kids...what are you gonna do?
I think I'll just wait until I'm in my 50s or 60s before I get any.

Don’t you want to watch the little darlings grow up.?Kids...what are you gonna do?

That charge was just for 1 rented textbook? Wow.I left out a part. The $150 charge is for a book that she forgot to return that was a rental. I went outside and found it in the back of her car under a pile of clothes.

Are you saying I'm probably going to be dead in my 50s or 60s?Don’t you want to watch the little darlings grow up.?
I do not remember textbooks costing all that much. I mean, they weren't cheap, but not outrageous. I never did any sort of rental service though.Yes, we’ve had a couple that were 250+ before. That was for a used paperback Spanish book
No, I was just added 20 years for the kids to grow up.Are you saying I'm probably going to be dead in my 50s or 60s?
I'll just adopt some kids already in their teens. That way in a few years, they will already be grown up and can take care of me.No, I was just added 20 years for the kids to grow up.

After having to retake a class because she didn’t do the required work

Wow, then a couple of late or missing books would cost a boatload. I can understand your frustration. The rental was only $33 but if you don’t return them then they charge you for whatever they say is the value of the book.
Her first semester at college, her books were a little over 900
Oooooo...I thought it was because the teacher was really a grad student or something and didn't explain things well to the students. Or, that might have been a different 1, since IIRC you said she's had/will have 2 classes to retake.
Oops! Not good at all on her part. I'd be PO'd, too.
ETA: Seems this kind of stuff happens a lot with teens, especially when they have a boyfriend or girlfriend who occupies nearly all of their waking thoughts and their time.
I can’t complain about my 4. They were all responsible when the time came.
We found out about her not turning in the required work when we made her email the teacher. That’s what he said caused the minus on her C.
Then I'd be doubly PO'd about the grade and her having to retake the class. First, because of her not turning in all the work and earning that grade, and second... because she wasn't forthcoming with that bit of info. (which she likely knew already) when she got her grade and then just complained about the teacher.![]()
Time to sit her down for a serious talk.Exactly. I can’t tell you how ready I am to be done with her in college. She still has two more years. She starts the nursing program this fall. She took the exam to get into the nursing program a week or so ago and did great. I know she’s smart enough. She hates writing papers and it was an English class that she got the C- in. She’s also working on a minor in Spanish but we told her she’s going to have to put the next Spanish class on hold until she takes the English again. She can’t start the nursing program until she has a C or better in that class.
