Work stuff. And going shopping for another pair of running shoes.

Didn't you just buy a pair of running shoes? Do you have specific brand(s) that you like. I have had a few pairs of Brooks that I liked ok but have never been a long distance runner. Never really went more than 5k except when I was in the army and had no choice.

FYI: From my understanding all the stimulus monies are not taxable income:

The short answer: No. In the somewhat longer words of the IRS: “No, the payment is not income and taxpayers will not owe tax on it. The payment will not reduce a taxpayer's refund or increase the amount they owe when they file their 2020 or 2021 tax return next year.Jan 4, 2021
Will I Owe the IRS Tax on My Stimulus Payment?

'The stimulus check is taxable income'
Again, no. The stimulus check you receive will not factor into your income-tax liability.Dec 29, 2020

‘My stimulus check will eat into my IRS refund’
Nope. The stimulus check you receive now won’t eat into your refund later. It also won’t get chipped away with a default on student loans, back taxes or others debts, Saunders said.
Is My Stimulus Check Taxable Income? Will It Reduce My Tax Return? What to Know.

    Hope this information is helpful . . . ;)

    .

No, the stimulus checks aren't taxable, but if you don't get them, you get a rebate in the same amount as the check. This is going to be helpful for my daughter who never even got the first stimulus check.

Can you tell me more about this? My oldest didn't get them either having graduated from college right before covid happened and was still on our returns. This is her first year filing on her own instead of being our dependent.

It's very common in residences that are rented to tenants (condos, apartments, houses, mobile homes)...at least down here anyway. It's stipulated in the lease and spells out the potential or likely consequences of violating the policy, too, usually.

I was asked if I smoked on the application to rent my duplex. I dont know if that was to exclude me or for insurance purposes. No questions about vaping though. I vape inside. When I did smoke though, I went out into the garage.

I used Turbotax. There was a question about if you got the stimulus checks and how much each time. I put $1200 for the 1st one and $0 for the second. The program added $600 to my return. I usually don't get a return, but now I am.

I heard from Anna but just another brief message. On the moving front they are going to hire movers for the heavy stuff. On the work front, the jerk is still there but she has been working under a different supervisor. She is now worried about getting fired so I’m guessing thing aren’t going that well.

If she’s filing her own I think they will add the amount to her refund if she didn’t get the $600 stimulus.

    Good morning EveryOne !!! :D

It's -6 degrees but on the bright side ( ;) ) it is very Sunny today, yay!!! Our chilly morning walk, jog and run was at a pretty fast clip. Not too bad outside, I'm used to it.

Got the house cleaned (yes, toilet sparkling clean too! :p). A couple RBA's got new clapton's and wicks. I'll do a couple more later.

I'm vaping a very nice DIY Vanilla Coconut Cookie with my morning coffee.

Hope y'all are doing well!!!

I did just buy a pair. And they are great. Except, unlike my last trail running shoes, these are not good for asphalt. I run trails only about 50% of the time. So now I am looking for some good lightweight road shoes.

And Brooks are generally good shoes. I've had a couple of pair. As far as brands I like, I have generally been happy with Saucony, Adidas, and Asics. Salomons are really good too, but I've found their sizing to be less consistent than the other 3 brands.

I hope Anna is doing well, all things considered. Say hello from me, please. It's pretty hard to get fired from a government job. I think Anna needs to just chill some, :). There is no absolute 100% perfect job where everything just magically "flows". There will always be a knucklehead or two everywhere. Sometimes in the eyes of others we're that knucklehead. ;) Accepting that goes a long way towards finding some tranquility and peace of mind.

    Morning, mixers.

Dang, MINUS 6? Sorry, it may be bright, but there's still not much warmth in that January sun! I'll keep our 40 and soggy

Believe me, I was very bundled up and warm for our morning outing. Carli had her dog booties on to help keep her feet warm.

So if you are half way to Paradise then you must have a simply gorgeous view of my favorite mountain, Mt. Rainier?

Last time I was there I stayed at the Paradise Inn. I did a lot of hiking.

Loved Snoqualmie Falls. I hiked down to the bottom, easy part. Not being used to the altitude walking back up was challenging. I spent a day hiking around there.

The whole N.W. is one of my most favorite parts of the country. :)

    Thank you!

There are a couple flavors I don't have for that.

Good thing I'm doing a BCF order today. Now if I can stick to my list I'll be fine. But I will probably veer some and grab a few "others" of interest along the way.

The first stimulus check was based on the tax year 2018 or 2019, whichever year was most recently filed at that time. The second check was based on tax year 2019. If she was a dependent on those tax years she is out of luck.

My running shoes are Asics. When I was running major miles my knee started giving me fits. I changed to Asics and the issue went away immediately.

Wow. I didn't know it was possible to ban smoking or vaping inside someone's residence. Do most places in your area have the same rules? Or is your place just more strict on it?

Long story short - YES, there are a number of Federal/Sate/Local Laws and ordinances that now allow for the banning of smoking/vaping, in private residences - even some where you might not expect it . . . AND - As for where I live, Yes - they can be "Strict" at times when people are blatantly not following the "House Rules" & Regulations" (remember I live in a Senior Residential Apartment Complex that is subsidized by HUD).

    AS @JCinFLA stated -
It's very common in residences that are rented to tenants (condos, apartments, houses, mobile homes)...at least down here anyway. It's stipulated in the lease and spells out the potential or likely consequences of violating the policy, too, usually.

AND - There are Smoking/Vaping Bans also for the owners of Condos/Co-Ops and HOA be it in their home or on their/community property too . . . One of our own ECF Members has been fighting with their board and harassed by building management for years because they Vape in their unit and promoted vaping (Recently finally won and can now peacefully vape in their residence).

Most of these laws were passed by legislators - not for the benefit or health of the tenants, but for the landlords (who many legislators are) for financial reasons only. in Apartment Building, Condo/Co-Ops,

Matter of fact, even if you smoked in your residence for years prior to the bans, you can be evicted if you continue to smoke or they smell tobacco smoke after you have been warned . . . And as for smoking/vaping in public just look at California/New York City smoking/vaping bans on the street, beaches, or public parks . . .

Citywide efforts: Now, cities across California are going beyond state law to ban smoking on sidewalks and anywhere people can be exposed to second-hand smoke. ... In addition to other smoking bans, these cities have forbidden smoking on sidewalks. Penalties vary, but fines could be $100 for a first offense.Feb 12, 2018
How California’s smoking bans are broadening – Orange County Register

Sidewalks remain one of the last public places where smoking is allowed in New York City. It's already banned in parks, pools and beaches, as well as most indoor places, including restaurants, bars, offices and clubs. Using e-cigarettes is prohibited in the same places.Mar 25, 2018
New Bill Would Ban Smoking While Walking on NYC Sidewalks

    So - Be Forewarned . . . Just Sayin' . . .
