I keep saying I need to cut down and I did put my Sensis away for awhile. I’m really slow on cutting down more but I need to. I’m really not using my vaporesso Osmall much so I guess I’ll put that away and make a small dent.

The first DIY recipe I made I thought man, this sucks! It was absolutely unvapeable...

However, being the tightwad that I am and seeing as how I made 60ml of it and the bottle had nicotine in it I put it in the back of a cabinet thinking someday I might figure out how to fix it and at least get through it...

Well I had actually forgot about it at one point and one day as I was cleaning out that cabinet I found it and was like oh... I remember that.. lol

Not too terribly long afterwards I needed some ejuice as I had run out, so I pulled the bottle out and thought screw it... I'll vape this regardless of how bad it tastes.

Now I had allowed that recipe to steep according to recipe directions, but it had still been just horrid, which is why I gave up on it...

However, when I loaded up and vaped it all those months later, it was just plain awesome! Im talking it was one of the best ejuices I'd ever tried to date - even from a manufacturer...

And that moment changed the trajectory of my life in vaping... I trusted myself, and began really doing and getting into DIY...

I'm not saying this exact scenario will happen to you, or that you should do anything right before gaining confidence... but just wanted you to know that DIY can produce awesome ejuice, it's just time and more experience. Just because the first go didn't give you good results doesn't mean you should give up..

    You CAN do this!
I have had the same experience with tfa coconut extra, initally tasted like sun tan lotion and was soapy. It was awful even after a month of steeping so I too put it away in the back of the cubbard. There was also a watermelon flavor (can't remember which one) so it too was put back. About 4 months later, decided to revisit them. The coconut was awsum, one of the best vapes I have had. And the watermelon just took time to taste like a real watermelon.

It just takes trial and error to make your way but patience is the key and vapings' best friend. LOL

    :)

The pain clinic appointment that I've been waiting nearly 5 months to get into now is on the 28th... the doctor is confident these injections are what I need, so fingers crossed. If this helps then I'll be able to get back into PT and get back to surgical recovery...

Hoping this was only a minor setback... :)
I sure hope so. This recovery has been one long row for you to hoe. Prayers that this injection is exactly what you need to get moving forward!

I vape less now compared to a few weeks ago, still well over 400 mtl puff daily. Last fall I was probably closer to 1000 puff daily.
I have no goal to cut down, I won when I threw away the cigarettes almost 8 months ago.
You certainly are a winner for giving up those cigs,

Maybe you just need a higher nic %? I've found on the few times I've reduced it from my usual level I vape non-stop. For me, keeping the nic level higher means I vape less often. :2c:

Hello everyone! I'm just beginning to dabble in DIY. I have been reading this thread for a little while but this is my first time posting. I have a couple of questions that maybe you all could help me with.

First, and this is only somewhat diy related, I have a couple of bottles of Nude 100 Lava Flow 12 mg liquid. Last night I was informed by my significant other that vaping it made the house smell like rotting food. Does anyone know of a flavoring I could add to that would complement the Lava Flow flavor and impart a more pleasant smell to the vapor? I didn't think it smelled bad but she was adamant. She also told me once long ago when I was vaping something blueberry flavored that it smelled like mustard. She usually comments positively on the smell when I vape things that have flavors of graham cracker, cocoa, cream, or mint. Any ideas?

On a more diy related note, anyone have a good cool, clear mint recipe they'd recommend? Even better if the vapor is mostly odorless. A year or so ago I caught a bad cold and I thought a mint vape would be pleasant for my sore throat and cough. I bought some store made liquid from a local vape shop they called Extreme Ice. The liquid was clear, had a nice mint flavor, bit of a cooling effect, and was just lightly sweet. I liked it and I noticed my coils and pods lasted forever using it. I'm currently vaping a plain menthol liquid from the now defunct Blue Dot line and I don't find it as enjoyable. I'd love some suggestions!

My wife hates me vaping in the house and always said the smell really bothered her, so I got a air purifier and the complaints have stopped. It really works well.

    Hello,

Glad to see you here and making ejuice too. LOL
Bullcity flavors sells a flavor called extreme ice but you have to mix it down with your own nic and pg/vg. Here is a link.

    Extreme Ice-FW

Can't help with the Lava Flow, never tried it so don't know what flavors are in it.

    Good luck.

    :)

Oh and remember to read the reviews, they offer some good suggestions.

Maybe I can help, what flavors do you have?

Nope. There is a reason I never played Skyrim. I got hooked on Oblivion and played way to much.

My roommate in college had the game and I sat down to play it one afternoon. Next thing I know, two weeks had gone by. I lived on Cheetos and Dr. Pepper and I would forget to shower. I skipped going to classes and lost my scholarship. My girlfriend left me and my dog ran away. Now I live in a van down by the river.

    Oblivion cost me everything.

Being that you are on the forum all day and night, I hope you at least get proper nutrition now.

Recently I changed my vaping habits. I had 13 setups going, each with a different juice. Now I'm down to six, with just the flavors I liked the most. Plus I'm more diligent about changing wicks and coils. It's less of a chore and I'm enjoying it more.

Oh wow :) i have never had more than 3 flavors going at the same time even though I have more than 3 different flavors available. I need to be more adventurous, 2 are ADV, 1 I rotate, I feel like I get sick of different flavors fast.

I figured out the four flavors that I was short in elr. I wasn't short...I just rebought the four during the RS sale and I already had them in my stash. I'm calling elr accurate now on my flavor count. The one "missing" from 300 down to 299 I have no idea...but it's probably my fault somewhere down the line. So now I have extras of INW lemon cake, TFA vanilla swirl, WF vanilla ice cream (LOLOLOL!!!), and TFA vanilla bourbon. That's a good thing as I like those flavors.

It only took about 5 minutes to figure that out but I feel better now. :vapor:

I know it's too late now, but @Butch, the optometrist can give you reversal drops to get rid of the dilation of your eyes so you can drive.

That is why I always have 6 flavors in my rotation. For me variety is one of the pluses of vaping.
