I wasn't criticizing... but I have seen several you (yes... even you Fran) make that comment... "maybe I should do a SFT..." That's why I mentioned it. I just posted admitting that there is no "right way".
We all do things our own way. There is no right or wrong. I occasionally do a sft if I think it’s really needed but mostly I do little 2 flavor mixes. To my way of thinking a two flavor mix tells me a bit more about a flavor.

I was going to mix today (planned on doing many mixes) Well... that's not going to happen. Forgot to mix unflavored base, didn't even write down all the recipes I want to make and never made a master flavor list (with %) That's what I working on now (the list) Only 50 flavors and I have stack of "little pieces of paper" with notes on % I piffed a few flavors and even threw a few out so just have 50. I'm happy with that.

By the way, you did teach me something... flavors interact and you can't predict this with SFTs.

This is true. I pick something pretty neutral for a two flavor mix, usually ice cream or pudding. It gives me a good taste of my flavor, showing me a little how it will be in a mix.

    Happy Mother's Day!
Busy one here, first I had to go to work in the morning (one weekend a month), came home and went shopping with DH to get him some new sneakers for our walks (that's a challenge with his wide flat feet). I joked that since I bought him shoes for Mother's Day and I can't wait to see what he gets me for Father's Day ;). Of course, we had to take a walk to test the sneakers out when we got home (they passed!).

re mixing: I'm firmly in the camp of whatever works for you. I started mixing by ml (lots of syringes and clean up) and shifted to mixing by weight and find that easier with less clean up. I seldom do an SFT unless I really want a clear profile of the flavor or how I might use it. Often I just dive in with a recipe that sounded so good I ordered the flavor, sometimes I sub it in a recipe that I know to see how it changes it. I'm consistently inconsistent and that works for me.

Funny (sorry @DavidOck), my MIL said she didn't feel old until her youngest turned 50. That happened to be my DH. She said she was happy to still be around when he turned 60.

I hardly ever do sft, only when I'm bored and can't think of anything to mix

on a side note, my 4 mixes that I made at around 6% I think aren't really going to work out for me even after about 2 weeks steeping I can barely taste anything
I was hoping to lower my flavoring %s but I don't think that's going to really be possible....maybe I'll shoot for 10% and see how that goes since 12% is ok, 10% should be ok....6% is just too low for me I think...

It is no doubt too big of a drop all at once.

This really helps me understand % more. I'm really struggling with that a lot, I only ever used drops or ml to mix.
    A rough guideline... eyedropper = 20 drops/ml, small flavor bottle dropper = 30 drops/ml
I only use this method when fine tuning a test batch (don't want to get the scale out for that)

    Somewhere between here and there
I survived four hours at the outlaws house. I feel like I should get a medal or something. We took over pulled beef and some sides for dinner. I ate too much. Holy cow the strawberry cheesecake was good for dessert.

Join the club, I think we've all or most of us, have done that. Better than inadvertently running the mod up to 150 watts on an MTL tank ;)
Or a RTA with a small NiChrome coil at 220 watts (melted the coil lead... I inhaled that)

YIKES!!! yeah no, even I wouldn't use that much cactus....a couple of drops is more than enough, anymore and it takes over the mix
Totally agree. Anything more than a couple drops tastes like aloe vera to me. Nasty and yuck. :D

Some seem to love it in high %'s. To each their own.

Thanks, I have done Bill's method but it doesn't really seem different to me. I do the same tweaking with a 10ml sft. I adjust and keep notes on the sft until I get something I like.

With an sft...aren't you using only 1 flavoring in the sample you make? I could see that being the same as Bill's method...if that 1 flavoring is a "one-shot" (already a blend of various flavorings). Or if you're planning on making only a 1-flavoring recipe, it would be helpful.

But in Bill's 100DTT you include any/all of the flavorings used in a recipe, in the sample. You find out how they taste altogether and adjust them accordingly.

Maybe I'm not "getting" something or missing it though. ;)

My main problem with the 100 drop method is that drops vary in size from bottle to bottle.

When Bill came up with the 100DTT, a huge number of flavorings still came in regular, screw-off, capped bottles (no dropper tips like now). It was easy to use either pipettes, or syringes with the same size blunt needle tips on them, to remove the flavoring from the bottles and then dispense the drops. That way the drops were the same size. Now that most bottles come with the dropper tips on them, I use the 10mL or 15mL size flavorings that I buy first, when doing a 100DTT. I've found the tips on them dispense close enough to the same size drop, to me. The tips on many of the 30mL, the 2oz, and the 4oz. bottles do usually dispense bigger sized drops though.

I finally used my “13 feets” cotton from amazon. It’s fluffy. No break in needed like I read on some reviews. So far so good. I like it. I doubled the strand for my mesh rta and it fit perfectly which is what I was hoping. Great price as well for a ton of cotton.

I occasionally tilt my head looking at this recipe but haven't made it yet.
    Is anyone here a Grackhead?
It was mentioned during the 24 hour fundraiser resulting in joyous approval and laughter.
The comments at ATR & ELR are encouraging.
I'm going to mix this today o_O

EDIT - I'll mix 25ml with WS-23 and 25ml without. Grack's daddy says it's what he always uses instead of Koolada now and comments say it's also good without coolant. Yes I said coolant.
My, that's a lot of cactus.
