I did a sft on the salmiak but never put it in a recipe.
I just wanted a decent jelly bean. I have many flavors still left to mix but super tired with gardening. Work tomorrow so no mixing until Monday.
    Black licorice isn’t it?
    A salted version!

    Salmiak

    odd...
    Salty liquorice - Wikipedia
Salty liquorice, salmiak liquorice or salmiac liquorice, is a variety of liquorice flavoured with the ingredient "salmiak salt" (sal ammoniac; ammonium chloride), and is a common confection found in the Nordic countries, Benelux, and northern Germany.[1] Salmiak salt gives salty liquorice an astringent, salty taste,[2] akin to that of tannins—a characteristic of red wines, which adds bitterness and astringency to the flavour. Consuming salmiak liquorice can stimulate either a savoury or non-savoury palate and response.[1] Anise oil can also be an additional main ingredient in salty liquorice. Extra salty liquorice is additionally coated with salmiak salt or salmiak powder, or sometimes table salt.

Lol...I used a block of sal ammoniac for cleaning my soldering iron tip when I built glass windows !

I had cheap hot dogs and a salad.

I love a good salad! My son who I spent a fortune sending to a culinary school that decided to be a commercial roofer after he finished school does the cooking but takes off for the weekends, so Marie is my weekend eats :) I do have prepped salad fixings in the fridge to make a nice tuna salad tomorrow though.

Well, there was a long thread on Nextdoor this morning. There's a trendy shopping area nearby. Used to be quaint and fun with lots of small interesting shops, now it's wall to wall bars and endless apartment buildings. Not a place I would go after dark. Bit of a shame but that's the way it goes.

Anyway there were two smoke shops up there and a third one just opened. The local whiners were furious. Why do we need another smoke shop? Lowering the tone of the neighborhood. Blah Blah Blah. Someone said they were getting positioned for the upcoming legalisation of the other stuff. Someone else said they would probably be selling vape stuff. Mostly to kids, get them hooked on nic so they could set them up for a lifetime of smoking. That set off a long back and forth about how bad vaping is. Someone posted about vape having much lower levels of poisonous chemicals than cigs. Someone else replied that vape was far worse than cigs, it's obvious to anyone who bothers to read, there's plenty of evidence, I've seen it.

That last one made me cringe. That's what evidence is these days. You read some opinion piece on the internet which agrees with what you believe and that's "evidence".

When my husband and I bought that car the salesmen and the owner of the dealership were walking us out and were chitchatting like car salesmen do when they are happy, so I got my vape out and started vaping, which of course started the you know that's bad for you conversation after he lit up a cigarette .

so I began addressing all of his concerns about my vape as he recited each thing he'd ever read that was bad about vaping and finally, no argument left he said well you don't even know what's in that juice, and pointed to my mod again...

To which I replied I know exactly what's in my juice, I make it!

His jaw hit the ground I swear... lol.

People do they believe what they read... I think that tendency is accentuated because we have fewer face to face interactions than ever before, it's almost all online.

The saying should be "don't believe everything you read" these days.

Discernment and common sense are in very short supply now days. If you hear "follow the science" you can be pretty sure they are just making crap up.
