My advice is do it early and have a backup plan in case you can't find a turkey. Apparently it's even worse in the UK. Another Brexit glitch. A lot of the staff at places that prepare turkeys were seasonal workers from eastern Europe and they aren't allowed in any more. Some have closed down, others are working short shifts. Not sure what's behind the shortage in the US.
I've yet to see many major shortages here but I'm sure it's going to happen.

I've been working like a dog today, don't know where that expression comes from since dogs mostly just lie around waiting to be fed or walked. Anyway

We are doing early thanksgiving on Monday, GS is a Marine and we have to fit in with his leave. Wife will be cooking and I clean the house up. She went shopping yesterday and really had to hunt around to get what she needed. Lots of empty shelves. I went looking for frozen turkeys a couple of weeks ago and nobody had them. I finally managed to order one from Fresh Thyme. They come chilled at 30 degrees so I'm picking it up tomorrow.

I have a feeling it won't be fun shopping right before thanksgiving. Apart from the shortages there will be a lot of frustrated angry people racing around the shops. Glad we are doing it early.

I was watching the morning news the other day and they said there is a shortage of small turkeys this year. It's not a supply issue, but more of a demand issue due to Covid. Most people are skipping the large family gatherings this year so more are buying small birds. I was at the supermarket this morning and the smallest one I saw was 16lbs. I am going out early Monday morning and see if I can find a smaller turkey. I am contemplating getting a 6lb hen..

What do you think happened? It turned out great on your first go around, right?
It did. I had a few yummy days before it changed again. I don’t have an exact time line so I’m going to keep trying it for the next several days.

    Somewhere between here and there
I’ve been trying the OOO creamy twice a day. The yummy is still absent.

I’m trying mine with raspberry today. It’s really not super creamy. The raspberry even at 1.5% is still up front. I’m getting a little tangy taste that could be cheesecake. It’s a little creamy but doesn’t have a dense mouth feel.

I have barely touched anything out of my last two bcf orders. @FranC, have you done anything with the breakfast cereal? That’s one I got in my last order.
I believe I did two recipes with the cereal but haven’t tried them yet.

I wonder if the OOO would be good with almond custard? So far I feel like the OOO needs some help to get that thicker mouth feel. Maybe some ssa or fa whipped cream?
I got a short time of yummy creamy. If I can’t get it back I may try it with SSA whipped.
