Things have turned around. My wife asked if I wanted to stay home and I said I kinda do and she said that’s fine. She might go over for a little bit by herself but said I had the perfect excuse since I got my booster yesterday. I don’t want to keep her from visiting her friend so think she should go. They are going bowling after dinner and my wife said there’s no way she was going since her knee has been acting up. Our kids grew up together for several years but I’ve never liked the husband. Our youngest daughters were hanging out some this week and mentioned how their family is going out to eat almost every day. I just feel like they aren’t being as careful as they should with the new variant raging. Not really my place to say anything.
We mostly stopped eating out when the plague hit. Wife's birthday is 12/29, all her life she got short changed on birthdays with it being between Christmas and New Year so we took a chance and went out to eat. It was OK. They had removed a bunch of tables to space them out and all the staff wore masks.
Some virus doc in New York calculated that if you spent New Year's Eve in a crowded bar you had 100% chance of being exposed based on the super high positive rate in New York. And 80% chance of catching it because of how infectious Omicron is. Even a sit down meal in a busy restaurant got you a 5% chance. Omicron is just getting started here in Indiana though, I think they spotted the first case this week.
