I bought VTA Honeycomb a while back and wasn't sure what to expect from it. ELR reviews are literally "all over the place" (look and you'll see what I mean ;)).

I wasn't sure what to mix with it. In the end I decided to play it safe and go with one of my very basic creamy mixes. I let it steep for a month.

Creamy Wafer Base (@Zazie, please and TIA. :))

VTA Honeycomb 3%
WF Cream Filling 1.5%
SSA Madagascar Vanilla 1%

What is VTA Honeycomb? Firstly, I don't taste any honey in it whatsoever. I am familiar with FA Honey so coming from that I can confidently say there is no honey in the VTA Honeycomb flavor.

VTA honeycomb tastes very much like the wafer part of a Voortman's near sugar free wafer or the wafer part of any other similar brand.

IMO the sweetness is about a 4-5 using my scale of sweetness. 1 being nonexistent sweetness and a 10 being sickly sweet.

VTA Honeycomb is very smooth and there are no off notes. I tested it at 3% and I am confident it could be pushed to 'perhaps' 6% for a main wafer like profile in a mix (depending).

My basic mix tastes like a creamy mild vanilla wafer. Overall it's tasty for a simple 3 flavor test mix. I'm vaping it as I type, lolz. This mix easily could be used as a base, and launch pad, for building your own mix.

WF Cream Filling is just that, a very pleasant and well rounded cream filling. It's nice and creamy and has a pleasant mouthfeel. SSA Madagascar Vanilla is just an awesome vanilla (coming from a vanilla freak). In my mix the Madagascar is there to more fully support the Cream Filling.

Honeycomb could be used to add texture to many mixes as a main or background note in a mix. As a main note, more wafer like. In the background for less wafer, added texture and complexity to support other bakery style mixes.

Honeycomb will work well with fruits, other bakery flavors, creams, custards, chocolates, ice creams, yogurt, nuts, coffee etc. etc.

IMO, it's one of those 'must have' flavors that will work well with nearly any flavor grouping.

VTA Honeycomb would also work very well with, and compliment, WF Crispy Wafer (or SSA Crisp Waffle) for a much more complex tasting wafer profile (as in, how the 2 croissant flavors work ;)).

Honeycomb and Crispy Wafer with a chocolate, like VTA Chocolate Mousse, would give you a basic, but not so sweet, KitKat bar (a couple more flavors and you're right there). I'm planning on doing a version of that next time around. :D
I believe the honeycomb the flavor is meant to evoke is this candy, not the stuff you get from a beehive.

Aha, good find!!! VTA Honeycomb could work as that. I just looked up VTA honeycomb in Liam Davey's 2020 Flavour Book. He says it's like the inside of a 'Crunchie' chocolate bar (at 2% SFT).

Honeycomb is a candy, popular in England, cunchie bar was one of my favorite candies when lived in the UK.

I got good stock of the VTA honeycomb, make a lot of honeycomb custard with it :)

Just watched the news and we’re shooting for a low of -3 tonight and 17 tomorrow. Monday should be just barely over freezing for my first day back to work. It sure has been nice having this time off. I wish I had enough vacation time to do it a few times a year.

I’ve enjoyed my 11 days off. I told my family today I’ll be doing it more this year instead of a day here and there mostly to take other people to the doctor or similar. My family, although I love them dearly, squeeze me dry sometimes. Per year I get 22 vacation days, 10 sick days that I never use and save to apply to retirement, 4 personal holidays, and 12 holiday days. Between all that I figure I can take a week off every couple of months. I deserve it as I work too hard. Mom can drive herself to her doctor not far away instead of me taking my time to drive her. They are all spoiled! But I’ll still do it if she wants me to……I’m a sucker for my family.

You have a lot more available time off. I work for a small company and we only get two weeks vacation and then major holidays. We basically have unlimited sick days but I almost never use any. I did have 2.5 days last year because I got sick after my second vaccine shot and then got a sinus infection after my flu shot.

I guess that can’t be helped as long as you do reviews.

It just gets like that when I get a bunch at once like I did this time. Plus I got two each of the Kroma and Max 168 so set up both and use a different coil in each.

I’d hate to have a power outage here with as cold as it is.

We are watching Dateline. It’s about a shooting after a new year’s party.
Fortunately, it is 56 right now but I was worried about food since both freezers are full. We have to get the generator hooked up.
