Yes. The big difference is TFA Smooth has Triacetin in it. Over time Triacetin will cloud and crack plastic tanks. Same thing with FA MTS Wizard, which does the very same thing as Smooth.

Either one of those (besides reducing throat hit) can also help to blend (versus layer) flavors in a mix. Nearly any sweetener, when used imperceptibility, can help to do the same.

My preference is to use a cream, a vanilla, a custard or a marshmallow (many times a combination of) to take the edge off a harsh mix. Those will also thicken, and enhance, nearly any mix.

Some fruits are harsh. Using another, complimentary, non harsh fruit flavor will help to minimize harshness.

Using a higher VG ratio, and/or lower nic mg, will also reduce harshness.

Some confuse harshness with throat hit. Some like a strong TH while others don't.

Wayne at DIY or Die has an excellent webpage, and video, on the topic. Why is My Ejuice Harsh? (Updated) - DIY OR DIE Vaping

@Zazie can you please add this to the Tips section. Thank you muchly! :)

Back when I was using a lot of smooth my plastic tanks didn't last long. Pro Tanks were a lifesaver for me. Always assumed it was fruit but maybe it was the Smooth. Some fruits do the same for sure, like pineapple. The only plastic I use now is some KFL's and I haven't had a plastic section go bad in years. I did just start up an orange mix in a KFL without thinking, that should probably go. Guess I could use some smooth in glass tanks and see how it works, but on the other hand marshmallow and cream / vanilla have been doing the job for me.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out that Wayne website later.

I was writing a recipe a few days back and I was about to add in last ingredient which was FA Fresh cream. I realized I had written all FLV ingredients to that point so I decided to use the FLV Cream instead so it would be an all FLV. recipe. Not that it matters…..LOL.

    Good morning all.
Wondering if anyone has used the SSA Dessert Chocolate in a mix. It smells heavenly but I can tell its very rich. Good starting %?

I was thinking of an Almond Chocolate croissant. I already have the basic recipe so I will start the chocolate low and go from there.

    Thanks anyway.

I like FA Blood Orange and FA Royal Orange. They don't cloud or crack plastic tank sections.

I have nearly all the different orange flavors. The FA's are by far the most realistic oranges. FA Royal Orange is like a navel orange. FA Blood Orange is the authentic bold flavor of blood oranges. It adds zest.

I always use both in mixes. They compliment each other nicely. If I want zestier then I'll boost the blood orange. Less zesty, more Royal orange. To add more zest I add FA Mandarin (0.25% - 0.5%).

I always have a few mixes on-hand with those.

My last two full tanks aren’t full anymore but the Zenith still has plenty in it, about 3/4 full. The Nauti GT however will be empty shortly. Two mixes left. I’ll have to pick what’s next.

I had 6 recipes but now I’m down to one so I guess it’s time to see if I can put any together right now

    Cookie Crumble Ice Cream
    Molinberry Cookie Bite 3%
    WF Crumble 1.25%
    WF Walnut 1%
    FLV Vanilla Pudding 1.5%
    WF Vanilla Ice Cream 2%
That looks interesting and I suppose the walnut can be considered a fruit? Three of those flavours aren't in my inventory so I won't be trying that one anytime soon.....

We will give her rest and go to visit her next week. We would love to be there asap but the importance of her being calm&resting is more important than us.

I would be concerned that WF Crumble Topping at 1.25% will likely overtake the walnut at 1%.

Crumble topping is strong. It likes to make itself known in mixes.

Too cute! I remember how excited I was as a kit when our dog had puppies.
