I've had the same experience with some mixes.
I have a theory as to why this happens. We're heating up our tanks which does what to the juice in a tank? Heat warms up the juice in the tank. I suspect something happens chemically to the juice in a tank, changing it, as we apply heat via whatever wattage each person uses.
When I test a new mix I always install a new wick and sometimes a new coil. I don't think what we are experiencing has anything to do with wick or coil. My suspicion is it has everything to do with the heat applied to the juice in a tank.
Initially when we vape a new mix juice in the tank has not been heated up. That may give us the "crappy" taste we experience to begin with. As we vape the mix, the juice gets warmer and warmer. Something changes in the juice from the applied heat. The next day it tastes better.
And, the next day our sense of taste automatically adjusts to any changes brought on by changes in our juice from applied heat.
I'm probably nutty (I most certainly am) but that's my theory on why we are experiencing this.
Thoughts???
Ideas???
Am I nuts???
Don't remind me they absolutely hosed traffic. All to make a speel on highway infrastructure which most Seattle residents prolly went ballistic about.Morning, mixers, and happy Friday
Not a lot on the agenda for the day. Presidential visit to Seattle pre-empted all local weather, so my guess is as good as the ones we didn't see. So, uh, rain?

I would question those sources. Many of the DIY'ers I know recommend testing mixes in the tank or RBA one will be vaping a mix in. That makes sense if you think about it.I have read/heard from many sources that DIYers should NEVER use a tank to test, use a RDA.
I think that pretty much depends on wattage and vaping frequency. It doesn't matter if it's an RDA, a tank or an RTA as each can, and will, get hot.Perhaps the tank retains the heat, or the heating somehow as you say chemically alters the recipe. Whereas an RDA uses the juice in short order.
I don’t care for one of the mixes in a Dvarw but hope it comes out of it. The only new flavor in it is the FA Vanilla Cookie. I think it was the first mix I used it in.
Well... I do squonk, use RTA's and drip daily. And on occasion I will use a tank with drop-ins. And... I vape MTL (tight to seriously wide open), RDL and DL. I like the full service vaping experience! That's another reason to squonk.![]()
12 wattsWell I do not think my tank got over heated today. It tasted pretty bad so there was no chain vaping at all.
Glad the fridge showed up.I got home and the new fridge was here. The delivery guys had to take the front door off and over extended the storm door so I had to adjust that when I got home. It’s been raining almost every day for a week so I had to go mow tonight since it was warm and no rain today. Holy cow the grass was tall. It kept clogging up the bagging chute. I’m definitely glad to be done with that.
Yeah sure, uh uh.Well I do not think my tank got over heated today. It tasted pretty bad so there was no chain vaping at all.
There goes the idea of overheated juice.Yeah sure, uh uh.
Hey, did you hear about that new tank? It has an automatic cooling feature to help corral all the heat you 8-12 watt'ers generate.
Just teasin' ya! Someone has to.![]()

I've always tested my mixes in RDA's first. Once I am satisfied with a mix I will fill an RTA to see how well the mix translates. Dripping, squonking, RTA's and tanks (drop-ins) all offer slightly different vape experiences. From my experience the differences are not huge.
SNIP..

Wayne at DIYorDie is good people. I've had some excellent conversations with him. He is very knowledgeable.I do question sources.. one of those being DIYorDie that seems to be fairly often sourced. That said when I see it over and over and over... it leads me to believe there is merit in their advice. Maybe not but thats my logic.
Wow! Now you sound like down in the dumps Eeyore.Hopefully I can recover the desire to vape this cookie tomorrow.
