Just got up from a nap. We hit 92 today, and I read that one of the water intakes for power generation at the Lake Mead dam is now above the water line. There are 2 others I think but this is not good if the level keeps falling.

It wasn’t horrible. I’m kind of used to days like this. The problem is small contractors don’t buy spare equipment then when theirs quits working they are frantic. We can’t stock every part for every machine so they have to wait on shipping.

I’m sure the machines get fixed as fast as possible.

He brought it in at 3:45 and I filed the warranty at 4:15. It’s hard to beat that.

I can't. The office manager is gone the next three days for a purchasing convention so we are going to be short handed.

I took the wife to Walmart this evening, it's the first time I've driven since the incident the other day but I am over it - just don't want to do it again.

Does your old toilet seat have a metal hinge?

It appears to be plastic. I can only access the bolt and nut on the underside. I have lousy tools and can't get a grip on the nut, so I don't know whether it's corroded in place or not.

@Zazie is your current toilet seat more round (about 16" back to front) or elliptical (about 18" b-to-f). You want to pick the correct replacement size.

I know. I need a round one.

Most of the seats now seem to have flimsy plastic hinges. I'm betting I won't get twenty-six years out of whatever I get.

I'm relaxing now. We finished our chores for the day. The girls and their spouses have everything covered for the rest of today.

An old toilet seat with metal hinges, if that's what Zaz has, can be a challenge to remove. The old nuts can get corroded and locked in place. I had to use a mini hacksaw to cut the bolts on ours. Once those were removed it was easy to install the new seat.

Yes, I'm hoping my sister has a mini hacksaw. I think it's going to be necessary.

Try some WD-40 on the nut and bolt and a pair of Vise-Grips.
