Morning, mixers.

I suspect we'll stay in and watch the rain. At least it's rain, no need to shovel. Although some places may need buckets. Just over 3/4" in the last 24, and they say it's just starting.

Hopefully the winds they also forecast will be a bust!

New mix........ It's tasty. I could easily vape this as an ADV.

OatmealCremeCookies.jpg

Oatmeal Creme Cookies

FA Oatmeal Cookie 2%
FA Madagascar (Vanilla Classic) 2.5%
INW Shisha Vanilla 1.75%
FLV Cream 1%
FA Vienna Cream 0.5%

FA Oatmeal Cookie tastes like a real oatmeal cookie. IMO the oatmeal is authentic tasting. There is some sweetness. It's what I would call "just the right amount". Sweetness sits between a 4-5 (scale 1-10).

The oatmeal sits out front. The cookie is more like a soft-baked cookie (compared to FA Cookie). There is a pleasing, yet mild, sweetness experienced on the back-end.

FA OC paired with one of my creamy vanilla bases totally "pops". All the proper oatmeal creme cookie flavor notes are perceived.

IMO FA OC could be pushed further in a mix for more oatmeal flavor (3%, no problem).

FA OC is an excellent flavor. It will work with many different flavors. Fruits, nuts, other bakery, chocolates etc. etc.

I would easily rate FA OC as one of the Top 5 cookie flavors in DIY.

@Zazie can you please add this to your blog? TIA

What vanilla flavors do you have?

One of the following will work as a substitution.

VTA Vanilla Classic 2%
SSA Classic Vanilla 1.5%

-or possibly-

WF SC Vanilla Cream Extra at 1.5% - will add the vanilla, additional creaminess and mouthfeel.

I'd go with 1.5% WF Vanilla Cream Extra as a sub for Madagascar. It'll make it a little creamier, add the vanilla component and add a nice mouthfeel.

I don’t have the oatmeal cookie. Is that one of the new FA flavors you got recently?

I got a cleaning and X-rays at the dentist this morning and ran to the hardware store for a couple small items. Stopped by Panera on the way home and got some bagels. Yum! I haven’t had their bagels in quite a while.

Evidently I’ve caught a cold during the holiday festivities. Sinus drainage and feeling a little tired. The wife said we were invited over for dinner to her friends house but I think it would be rude to attend sick. I’m waiting to see what she says. She knows I don’t like going over there anyway but I’m going to leave it up to her.

In these times when there are so many different respiratory infections going around and you've obviously caught something, stay home.

I think you should stay home so you don’t spread stuff.

I totally agree with you. Since she knows I don’t like going over there I fully expect a bit of attitude about it.
