I've been busy. Wife decided she wants new ceiling lights in a different style. Trouble is the attic has floorboards laid. When I put the lights in 20 years ago I also replaced all the drywall so I did a lot of the above the ceiling work from below. Now there's drywall there.

Took down a huge ceiling fan light today. Dismantling it took several hours, must have been 40 screws and bolts in the thing and a lot of them were seized up. Because of the weight I didn't put a regular light box in the ceiling, I installed a piece of 2X4 between the joists with a large metal box screwed to the wood. Luckily I found a small metal light box that fitted inside the large box with a bit of cutting and drilling. Managed to make it work with extra long bolts and wood screws and all sorts. Took all afternoon.

Yesterday I replaced a halogen light. The heat had messed up the plastic light box and the blocks where the bolts that hold up the light go in just crumbled and fell apart. That meant more bodging with 4" woodscrews and metal strips.

I'm 73 and working above my head while balancing on a ladder ain't fun no more. My neck and shoulders are done for. I just got a bag of replacement Pico screens and I was going to give that a try tonight, but my old bones aren't up to it.

Sounds good, thank you!
In your opinion, could you suggest a few vanilla ice creams?
Why start with all 3? Because I don't know what I'm doing.

You're welcome.

these are my favorite IC's........ not listed in any specific order

SSA Ice Cream
SSA Ice Cream Vanilla
WF Vanilla Ice Cream
WF Vanilla Gelato (Italian)
FA Vanilla Ice Cream
FA Vanilla Gelato
VTA Vanilla Ice Cream

also.....

HA Ice Cream
HA Franch Vanilla Ice Cream

and.......

WF Ice Cream (Dark Chocolate)
VTA Toffee Ice Cream
RF Ice Cream Sandwich
LB Vanilla Ice Cream

Those are all really good ice cream flavors. Each one is very different tasting.

If I could only pick three, then...... SSA Ice Cream, SSA Ice Cream Vanilla, WF Vanilla Ice Cream.
But, I can't just have three, so. LOL

When I mix an ice cream it's always with two of the above, and usually a 2:1 (depending on what I'm after).

I got a new Vapcell 4 bay charger a few weeks ago. Before that I had a couple of old xtar VP2's and the screen on the one I mostly used had started fading. Decided yesterday to put them in the stash box for emergencies and the one with the faded screen had faded away to where it wasn't readable at all. Maybe it just gave up trying when I stopped using it.

FWIW.........

"Gelato translates to "ice cream" in Italian, but this dessert's texture is denser, smoother, and richer than American ice cream. Like ice cream, gelato uses milk, cream, and sugar, but it differs in proportions. Gelato uses less cream and more milk than ice cream and typically contains no egg yolks or eggs at all."

"Gelato is richer and denser than American ice cream. Some people describe gelato as more elastic. Ice cream is milkier and creamier than gelato."

    Somewhere between here and there

Even at my age working overhead isn’t fun. My new manager came to me this afternoon asking if I could help with a light fixture that went out in his office. I grabbed the ladder and took out the old four foot light bulbs and ballast. I installed a led direct drive kit with led bulbs. I was only on the ladder maybe 15 minutes total but that was enough.

I came off a roof years ago. Thanks to a snow bank I didn’t get hurt. I haven’t got on a ladder since then except DD’s 3 step one.

I also came off a roof many years ago, into deep snow and was not hurt. Was shoveling snow off a roof and slipped.

Since then I avoid ladders, yeah, a 3 step one is okay. :thumb:

Seems we had the same experience. We even have the same thoughts on ladders.
