Good morning random folks. I thought I had to work today. My supervisor said we probably did and would call me otherwise. I never got a call, so I went in and nobody was there and the door was chained, so I came home. PT department is closed today and it's not too hot yet, only 81, so I walked 1.6 miles in the park.
Good afternoon, Terri. :)You did good.

    Morning, mixers.

Plan for the day is to roll out the AC. Chatter is that we'll see high 80s to mid 90s for the next week. And little overnight cooling, so it's time.

    So that's about a half hour :)

Uh, nice of him to follow through. Not.

Good afternoon, David.:) Hope the AC keeps you cool enough.

Hello, mixers, I hope you all enjoy your day and long weekend if you're having one

I just mixed up a tester for a recipe that I wrote up this morning,

Ghosts of Appalachia • apple, caramel, honey, tobacco. Trying for a caramel apple tobacco mix with a bit of honey and maybe a dash of nuts (from a little bit of Soho)
    Love that name.

Portable, on the small side, but proven to take the edge off in part of the house. And Stella, her lordship, does just fine sleeping in front of it :)

Afternoon folks.:) Two of the girls were here. Also Heathers oldest daughter and husband and Megan's Dallas. They were all in and out of the pool. Heather brought a salad and she cooked steak kabobs.

Afternoon everyone. Lazy day here. I’ve heard a few booms so far but not too many. The neighbor down on the corner usually has a bunch of people over for an all day and all night gathering with lots of fireworks. They have been unusually quiet so far.

It's been quiet here but I expect to hear some later.

It's been raining here so no fireworks so far.

I had a thought about fireworks. Back when I was young fireworks were done for kids. Little catherine wheels spinning around, small stuff mainly. There were bigger ones at authorised public shows. Now fireworks seem to be done for adults. Guys competing to make the loudest bangs, followed by shooting off guns.

Meanwhile the computers are driving me crazy. I was getting the old ones ready to donate. I did a factory reset on the first one. It deleted all the files and apps except it left the part where windows asks for a signin Pin. However it didn't leave the part that accepts the Pin so there's no way to get in. Googled and it's a well known MS bug. The only solution is to download Windows 10 and set up a bootable version on a USB on another PC so I did that and booted the locked PC from it. Now it has 2 versions of windows and the hard disk has been divided into 3 drives. I'm trying to get in but it keeps going into another Win copy. Once I get in I can straighten out the hard disk and do another factory reset from the USB. Maybe.

Good luck. I hate problems like that. I don’t miss doing the computer stuff at my work. It’s nice having a tech support company now. Just pick up the phone and they remote into your computer.

Hopefully your hot weather will git soon.

Nope. Unless, of course they got it wrong. Otherwise, nothing below mid/upper 80s until next Thursday... :( Short spells are ok (well, sorta!) but the long ones with hot nights, no way to cool the place down to get a jump on the next day.

I was getting the old ones ready to donate.

If NOT donating to family / friend, why not just wipe the drive and call it good? Let the new "owner" install whatever OS they want?

    It's a thought.

I'll do that if I can't restore Win10. But if I did that the new owner would have to buy Windows which isn't cheap. There's still some stuff I can try.
