It is amazing what is tolerable or "socially acceptable" when commercial interests are able to reap huge profits, isn't it!

Not really, I find that individuals can be smart, but the larger the group the stupider they become :).

What is weird is that health care costs and deaths from eating badly is catching up to tobacco deaths and you don't hear about it in the same way as smokers, because people don't have second hand eating problems, if you do that's a different problem all together :). But what is really interesting is that it has taken years for tobacco death tolls to reach this level, but eating badly has taken far less time.

According to mathematics:

When you think of how Dumb the average person is;

half the people are Dumber than that!

To the OP. I was put back on the main campus of the college. I found an office that we use for prisoners. sorry for spelling. Sat back relaxed. Got on the forum. One screen is ECF, the other I'm comparing prices. No one is around. Take out my little Itaste and have a nice peaceful vape for about 20 minutes. Get ready to leave. Remove all traces that I was there. Stand up and OMG there's a camera right behind my back. Big brother is everywhere.

when I first started vaping, instead of just doing it in the locker room, where i knew all of my co-workers and supervisors wouldn't mind, I decided to ask HR, and their response was a huge NO NO NO... mind you I work in a factory, and it's not like i would be doing it on the floor, more like in the break and or locker room... What made me mad/sad was that they did not want to "police it" and they did not want people to be confuzed.... ugh!!! I imiagine that they are afraid that some jerk would light up a regular ciggy and say oh it's electric.... but I use an ego twist, not one that looks like a ciggy..... so yeah they are lazy and do not want to deal with it, whatever so i go out with the smokers :( but when i use the bathroom I vape a bit, and I think when it gets really cold I might just stay in the bathroom during break lol.
And yeah I hate narks too

There was a few us of at my work, that to avoid trouble went outside. A senior manager told us, rudely btw, that we should be vaping at our desks. So we all did. Shortly there after, more and more people started to vape. Then out of the blue the same guy sends and email saying we're not allowed. Basically the guy is an idoit. I feel your pain!!! But the kind of person that does this, is frickin LAME!!!

I have thought about this myself and have decided if I run in to this kind of issue I am going to call it a nicotine inhaler ordered by my doctor for smoking cessation. I think that will give them more pause if you say your doctor prescribed it to help you. Exhale in to something that will hide the vapor.

I paid my way through college by working in the last remaining textile factory in our small town. I was a second shift floor manager with 32 employees. If it makes you feel any better, snitches, while useful in helping me know some things I could never have known otherwise, were held in as low regard as the person they were snitching on.

This attitude prevailed among all of management. If a tattle-tale came to us with information, we were obliged and even required to address it, no matter how mundane and childish it, more often than not, was. In the process of telling the tale, however, the tellers have also revealed themselves. These are people we know not to trust with any sensitive information, or to ask to go pick up the birthday cake for the employee birthday party you are having that corporate doesn't necessarily "know" about.

Working in management is an interesting thing. You see a lot in people that surprises and quite frankly, disgusts you. I am glad I only had to do that job for the 3 years that I did it. It is a horrible position to be in especially when it comes to personnel issues. If I had to guess what went down in your situation, I would bet that the person that ratted on the OP was probably recently reprimanded for smoking on premises himself. Just a guess but about half of the time, when an employee came to me with a complaint about another employee, it was shortly after being reprimanded for a similar incident themselves.

What ever happened to I will not say anything behind your back that I would not say to your face. I like the construction trade We still confront one another even a fist fight isn't unheard of. We don't have to .....foot around hurting someones feelings. If someone on my crew would of rated another crew member out Id of taken him to the guys face and told the other guy this guy is telling on you and let the situation resolve its self! I have no respect for back stabbing pathetic cowards its a shame people do not have integrity these days!!!!!
Usually when men get into a fist fight, they wind up best friends afterwards.

There is something profound in that, perhaps a number of profound things actually.
But for now I'll just leave it at that.

This is what I use at work.it attracts less attention then a plume of vapor

What is that?

One use is as a device by which a snitch can blow smoke up their own rectum!

That was your first mistake. Never ask permission. It's much easier to say you're sorry.
I am going through this now. New job, and vaping in my cube , keeping it on the down low. If a complaint ever gets to mgmt, I'll just say "sorry". But if I ask pemission, then I've already alerted mgmt to it, and if I get ratted on, I can't plead ignorance.

I don't think this is helpful to the vaping community. Obviously you have the right to do as you choose, but pleading ignorance after getting caught will only make people look down at vaping instead of looking at it as a great thing. My advice would be always ask permission and accept the answer given. The outside world is unaware of how many lives are changing because of this awesome little device called the e-cig. Educating them is always better than making them mad.

They way I see it. If its not banned indoors where you live vape till your boss or the place your at says no. That's what I did until vaping indoors and public places, that smoking is banned, became banned. And even then I continued to test the waters. No one complains when a persons fragrance is too strong. Or when people don't practice regular hygiene in fear of being sued for harassment. Was not the sin tax discrimination. Or the fact that something with no combustion or second hand effects getting banned not discrimination. Or paying more for life insurance because your a smoker or in the ex smokers category still not discrimination. What about over weight people? Increase the sin tax on fast food. But no they won't. So just for the fact I don't ask before I vape shouldn't really be cause for concern when society has bigger problems
