I get I'm eclectic, this is another of my favorites

It keeps me off of tobacco.

If you like the element of using the acoustic as a percussion instrument try Rodrigo and Gabriela. The example I'll use isn't necessarily THEIR best work but I'll use it because it is an interesting take on my favorite Metallica song.

Full studio audio version

and just because watching Gabriela is fun (she does the percussion)

Whatever keeps you off the hip hop is good music.

Depends.....you cannot tell me that Geto Boys, old Snoop & Dre, Easy E, etc from the 90's wasn't good music. Well, maybe you can, but.....I agree the stuff today is absolutely awful.

Even worse than Redheads.

When Hollywood focuses on the cookie cutter bands rather than actual talent.....

My tastes in music run a wide range from Jazz (including big band jazz), Rock, Trance, New Age, Classical, etc. Even played a few instruments in my younger day. But when you turn on the radio and all you hear is the same cookie cutter noise, you know it's not about the talent, but raking in more bucks for the music industry itself.

Music went rapidly downhill after the 70s. By the time the 90's rolled around, the majority of it was pure crap and it hasn't gotten any better.

I would somewhat agree. POP music went downhill about that time, maybe a little later such as mid 80's.

Good example of your later cookie cutter comment is late 80's to early 90's with hair metal bands. When the money men see something works they will beat it to death.

I can and will. You may not be able to hear it, lol. In the 80's, when [c]rap (the C is silent) was new it was ALMOST good, but not quite.

"R.A.P." and "music", when combined, form an oxymoron. True RAP has little to no melodic content (particularly vocal). Although there's fusion now. Hip Hop is a vast upgrade and is OK. Snoop whoever rocks though. He experiments and stretches the definitions, and even sings, so he's cool new or old.

To each their own. It's a whatever keeps you off analogs kind of thing.

i heard that :glare:

and there is still a lot of good music around. it's just now more obscure and you have to search it out. you won't find much on commercial radio stations, that's for sure.
