I second that Danwelsh, This RATank is great, and the people on the ECF and more than willing to help at all times. My current set-up is incredible. It is the three wrap 30Guage Nichrome. I've got it on my roughstack at 3.7volts. I just hit the button and it starts getting wound up till it sounds like a boiling cauldrin. The 400 SS mesh is wicking great. Flavor is as clean and crisp as it gets, not overly hot but quite warm. throat hit is not harsh but rock solid, and the vapor production is beyond belief. It literally puts out a ginormous cloud. I was riding in my truck yesterday, and had to roll down the windows to see!

C-note. I am not totally sure of the guage wire that comes with the RATank, but I suspect it is 36. It does work well, but you can not have any wire exposed between the mesh and the post. In other words I had to pull the mesh all the way till it touched the posts, and was virtually right on top of them. Also the wire has to be saturated constantly till it starts to get some build up on it, and the wicking kicks in. Sometimes initially I give a few pre-tokes to get plenty of juice on the wick before hitting the switch. Keep trying though because the set-up I have now produces more vapor than anything I have ever seen, or used in over a year of bigtime vaping. don't forget too to block off one of the wick holes if you are using a single SS mesh, See earlier in the thread, I blocked mine with a peice of o-ring I trimmed to match the hole size. This cuts down on the excessive airyness, and in my opinion, makes the pull perfect. Good luck Bro.

interesting side not i just scavenged some wire from my used dual coil tank cartos and tried to use that wire on the RA tank while i wait on my roll of wire from mountain oak and it would not work at all it just wouldn't even fire even using the same mesh I had working before... i thought any wire from a used carto should work maybe i was wrong...I'll play with it when i get my roll of wire in.

I got a VV gripper today from madvapes, and verified the OHM's on my 30guage coil. I thought my Multimeter was messed up but it is not, the gripper confirmed that I am running my RATank at 0.8 Ohm's, talk about low resistance. So doing the numbers 3.7 volt roughstack divided by 0.8 Ohm's=4.625 Amp's. My roughstack I am pretty sure cannot push that many amp's, but if it did this thing would be vaping at over 17 watts. I would have to say that when this thing gets cranking, it is beyond anything I have seen, Vapor wise. I am going to break it down tommorow to my dismay, I am afraid it will damage my roughstack, and there is serious sentimental attachment. Back to the drawing board, I been having fun rebuilding though, so no sweat.

I doubt I could handle that kind of power. This thing sort of spools up though like it is turbocharged! probably need to leave it alone till I get the correct resistance dialed in, o.k. well one more toot! BAM! C-Note, that carto may have a low resistance wire in it that your PV won't fire. That is why I have this RATank on my roughstack, it would not fire on the lavatube. That's funny the one made in china is safer than my US mod, couse that is assuming the roughstack was made here?

I like my vmax, no need for a multimeter as it reads resistance and it has a 5 amp limit and is variable to 6 volts. It also has protection features so it would never let me run something with too low resistance on it, i only tried the carto wire in the RA Tank on the vmax and lavatube mini so the protection circuits were probably the reason why they weren't firing. Should have slapped it on my glv2 if it would have fit...oh well i can wait for the good wire to come in to do it properly, my dual coil tank carto is hitting good on the vmax for now but in a few days that will probably change and then i will hope the next carto is just as good and isn't a crappy one, thats only if i dont have my RA Tank built by then....thanks to everyone here you guys are great!

C-note, you obviously have better sense than I do. You wrote in your note that you would wait for the wire to do it properly. Well you see where I am from. We don't have safety filters in the south. If something does'nt work due to safety features we remove the safety features. Redneck famous last words "hey ya'll watch this"!

258.jpgForgot to add this yesterday. I ordered some batteries off ebay to suppliment my supply. If you search IMR 18650 they should pop up. It is a lot of 5 IMR 18650, 1600 mah for $10.99 with free shipping. I figured at that price I would give it a shot. 4 of them were generic reds, and one was an AW 18650 2000mah! Not bad considering these sell for around $15 each, just thought ya'll might want to check that out. I looked this morning and only 5 bundles left, he had over 10 when I ordered on sunday.

thats funny! lol but believe me if i wasn't content with the performance of my dual coil carto tank i would be doing everything i could to get the RA Tank up and running. I am only going to the RA Tank because i hate relying on china cartos for a good vape. I just get so frustrated some times with the inconsistant quality and also I want to vape higher vg liquids but i cannot do that with the smoktech dual coil tank cartos.

You may want to be careful with buying any old battery, I only use AW IMR in my vmax. With unlabeled generic batteries you get off of ebay who knows what they really are. Your devices are only as good as the batteries you use. You may have gotten a deal but since my Vmax uses 2 stacked IMR 18350's I only use AW's as they have been being stacked in flashlights for years prior to them being used for ecigs and they have an excellent track record in flashlight applications. just my 2 cents.

240.jpgAgain C-note, we in the south are not known for our impecable safety records. I will be careful with these batteries, as I vape the s**t out of them! I'm not stacking though, so maybe I won't incinerate my face. I'm gonna unload the barnburner pics, this is the three coil, 0.8ohm 30guage I am fixin to tear down before I blow up the county.239.jpg

okay, just finished a 13 coil 30 guage, that initially showed 2.5 on vvgripper, now is showing 1.6 after ten minutes of use. Initial impression at 4 volts is hot. No glowing coils noticed, but needs to be broken in better. I used a dual wick technique with 325SS mesh freshly oxidized. I think this one is gonna be a monster on this VVgripper. I think I need to huff a quick tank through to get it up to par with the last build.260.jpg261.jpg
