Jeremy FWIW I have the Sense Herakles RTA-2 and it has been stellar to me. It totally replaced my OG Velocity RDA. It claims 6mL capacity and usually lasts me an entire day.

The only time(s) I have had it leak on me is due to large temperature or pressure (altitude) changes where I forgot to close the juice flow. When I anticipate these changes I usually close the juice flow and when I reopen it I tip it upside down to equalize the pressure.

GG did a video on the two tanks (Griffin and Herakles) linked here:

I didn't watch the full video but hopefully it is a good comparison of the two.

In full disclosure I purchased the Herakles at a vape shop in Gatlinburg, TN which is 10 hours from my hometown due to my wife being tired of filing my Velocity along the route :)

After about 6 mos of ownership I finally built a dual coil setup and it is doing well, but consumes the juice! Prior to last week I have been doing single coil SS316 TC mode and it was rocking right along. I did the DC setup for S&G and it really produces! However when this build dies I'll more than likely go back to a single coil setup for pure simplicity.

A buddy of mine has the avacado and loves it.

Good luck either way!

The Merlin is a great RTA but can seep as the base is press fit on those. Some do not but quite a few do, you can press the base tighter with a pair of sockets and a hammer or vise which seems to solve the issue. I have 2 Merlins that I use as daily drivers, great flavor and dead simple to build.

Check over in the Taifun thread as there are some issues with the various GTIII's.
Taifun GT Discusion!

Hey TD, my bachelor is now weep free for the time being!

Pressed the inner threads and jc section in more with light hammer and socket. Just a mini screwdriver around the ledge would work too.

Put a build in it, vapes well no weeping the last 24hrs.

Thanks, yeah looks like a nice tank. 25mm is a little bigger tthan I'd like right now.

I'm looking at this smok Tf rta g2, supposed to be real good, and I can get the g1 deck.

Excellent to hear!

I am getting tired of all the press fit stuff these days, most of the new RTAs you can't take completely apart for cleaning. My other daily driver, the Crius Plus is an excellent tank, but also suffers from the juice weep between the AFC ring and base. Nowhere near as bad as the Merlin does, but still occasionally makes the top of a mod wet. The OBS Engine is supposed to be a great tank as well, top air so it cannot weep or leak.

I have the Aromamizer Supreme LE inbound, hopefully it will find a permanent home on one of my G2's replacing a Merlin.

I agree, many of these tanks are between $25-$45, which is a fair price, but NOT when they skimp on one part and go with "press-fit" manufacturing.

I really wanted to try one of the new RTA's with top airflow, but the two I looked at were designed for dual coils. Hopefully some single coil models will come out and offer true LEAK PROOF!

BTW: The new Merlin Mini, does NOT use a press fit base, the whole tank breaks down well, but you give up the juice capacity, not an issue for me, but can be for some.

re-wicked my billow v3+ today after 150+ml's of DIY juice over the past 3 - 4 weeks: rayon was as clean as could be considering I once forgot to open the JFC after refilling and ran it pretty dry before the re-wick, and the coils weren't too bad either. Dry burned it, strummed it with the ceramic tweezers and re-wicked it with very thin tails and it is hitting like a champ right now. I probably could have went a while longer. I took a couple pics with my phone but they didn't turn out that great since it's a brand new Pixel XL I have never taken pics with before

Will be doing my boreas tomorrow after ~the same amount of time/mls. Will try to do it during the day and see if I can get some decent pics during daylight hours.

Yeah I'm now trying to avoid any pressfit RTA's, it's such a bummer cos I love the Merlin. The socket & hammer only works for a while then it's back to seeping.

Don't know if it's true but I read on Reddit that Augvape will at a later date produce an extension & glass tank to make it 4.5 ml capacity. I hope so, since I ordered the Merlin Mini cos you & @MMW was enjoying it so much.

I will try to remember to take some pics and hopefully they turn out. From memory like posted in here before, thin the tails heavily then lay them into the base to cover the holes in the deck base. I am running the 2.5mm hole base and have not ever had an issue with it really as long as I flip/burp the tank after refilling and take a few hits with it closed, and on one air hole open, before a few MTL puffs with 2 holes open, then crank it to my normal full open DL setting.

Yeah, I can see it's going to be a maintenance thing on the bachelor. It will loosen up again at some point.

Hopefully it'll hold out better for you on the Bachelor than on my beloved Merlin. Don't get me wrong, I still use & love my Merlin, I just wipe my mod off every now & then.

I do the same, Augvape should have included a vape towel with the Merlin. ;)

Yes it is inevitable, the pressed base will eventually loosen up again. I'll enjoy the seep free time while it lasts. :)

Totally off topic....:w00t:

I have a renewed interest in squonking...
Last week I rebuilt STM RBA to 0.6 & another to 0.4
Not a patch on my Derringer v3 @ 0.6 (velocity deck), (with one air hole blocked)
(All tencel wick, all parallel 30G TiNi, both on twin eleaf Pico with identical settings &/or Amps)

I'd normally go thru an STM tank in ~3 days at home;
I''ve barely touched it in almost a week.
The Derringer has been in almost 16/7 use for 2 weeks- on"unflavoured"
(25 mg/ml MFS has a lot of flavour...lol)
I stuck a drop of flavoured juice in there a few times.

Derringer tops apparently fit Hastur v2 clones.
What I'm suggesting- like cotton has had its day, tanks are a second rate vape, with all sorts of issues, and they're over-priced & big & heavy.

The STM RBA vape is thin compared to the Derringer.
Obviously, using 25 mg/ml juice (& TC) I don't really need a tank, & I think tanks are in my past.
A squonker would be ideal for when dripping really is a bit of a nuisance.

@ Rayonati Sloth
FWIW, I tried 3 diff 30G TiNi buids in 3 Derringer v3 about 2 weeks ago.
The 0.25 twisted parallel wasn't noticeably better than this 0.6 parallel-
mtl- because I suspect it wasn't getting cooled enough by the single air hole.
The twisted was good but lacked the flavour of the parallels.
(I never got a great vape on my Stumpys- might have to try a ...yikes...dual. Stick them in my Vapergeddon stash is more likely)

If you like the flavour a tiny atty gives, and I do, my LowPro RDA from FT came with a squonk pin.
Next on my To Do list is try using twisted for this Toaster Build.
Tencel is the only wick to use there, because it lasts, and that build would be near impossible to re-wick.
Attaching wires is such a PITA in it, I don't see myself ever attempting a dual.
The air can be made very tight.
The exhaust pipe drip tip screws in & the Stumpy adapter doesn't fit.

Yeah a lot have moved to squonking for sure.. I guess I'm not ready, but have been thinking about it, I rarely if ever use a Dripper but was just thinking about getting a new one. But then I don't want to get spoiled by it and have tanks not satisfy anymore. Lol

So I want to mention the first tank I ordered was the Smok Tf-rta g2.

I ordered it within 24 hours of starting to look at it. That means it really sold me cause it usually takes me a long long time to decide.

The Tf rta looks great, very versatile, gets high ratings in various reviews, and has multiple deck options. I also ordered the g1 deck from gb. This deck looks really Really nice, love the double wide posts, and offers double air adjustment. Probably one of the best single coil decks I've seen..

I got the Tf on sale for 5.99 stateside!!! The g1 deck was 6.50! Lol

(if you want to know where I got the deal message me, I don't want them to sell out before I choose to get a second one, lol)

Also I backed off the Merlin. I do like the looks a lot, but seeping will relegate it to the shelve for me so I'll wait for the new version. Really getting sick of juice mess over the years.

I did go ahead with the Tiafun gt 3 clone next, not thrilled with the deck posts without any traps. Thought I was sick of the free screws to trap the wire, it drives me nuts when they tweek the coil while tightening.. I may regret it, we'll see. I have a pif recipient in mind if I don't like it and want another g2. Lol

Fasttech was good, made sure my cart was all in Stock.. Ordered last night and it's shipped already this am.

I thought this review was great, if yowur looking for a 24/25 tank.

Ha, I also picked up a istick power 80 to dethrone the evic vt I've been using for a year and a half. Once again they got me with their cheap $35, 5000 mah device.

I like that it has custom tcr and its lighter with a stainless finish. I'm still getting used to it, it's slick, the fire button isn't as easy to find and fire as the evic.. It's a little too recessed and small... hoping a silicone skin will help me handle it better. This is nearly the same exact size at the VT. Guess I'm used to silicone cause I've used it so long on the evic. Helps me hold it comfortably without having to grip it as much to fire.

My 2c:
I have a Merlin and love it! I do get some seepage, but not a terrible amount. I can't find the thread where the 2 sockets are used to tighten up the base tho (someone link plz?). I'm having a hard look at the siren as well, I might just have to get one. I'm waiting to start hearing about issues with it tho, so we'll see.
