Hey everyone!

So I've been vaping the smok tf gt2 for a couple days. I'm Very impressed.

vaping it at 78w at the moment, whew i dont want to get used to this.. The first drive with this i thought i was gonna hit a parked car. Lol. Completely Blocked out the road, couldnt see anything.

It wicks amazingly i think, I mean im getting bubbles the size of a dime fly up out of there and not a single hint of a leak,b ot sure how they dis it. The wick is right by the air hole but I've had no sign of leaking or over wicking at all, pressure changes laying on side, no leaks so far. Pretty surprised, it wicks like an absolute dream.

When i ran the tank dry and opened her up the wicks were drying as well, the tips were white. Perfect, good to the last drop; as rayon should be.

The claptons are over kill for me, been ok from 60-80w. I can max out the ipower 80 no problem. Air flow is great, the only negative i can come up with is the fill port is kinda small for 100vg and larger tip bottles. I may modify it.

With the single coil g1 deck i feel this is going to be on of my favorite single coil tanks for 100vg and high wattage.

Overall best $6 I've ever spent on vape gear.

Hi folks. Been MIA, but caught up now. I won a Starre Pure Tank, and while I really like the tank, the Ceramic Cover Coils are not for me. They work great, but... kanthal coil, with a cotton wick, encased in a ceramic shell. I've been through several tank, and I can still taste the cotton. bleh
@JeremyR you have ruined cotton for me..... thank you! :)

Hey tejas, sorry bout that - LOL Glad its serving you well.

It only takes the coil heads i take it. You can do like we did back in the day... Diligently pick out the cotton and repack with rayon little by little.. but we have so many options now a days its not worth all the trouble. lol.

I've considered attempting that, but nah. It's a shame there's no RBA heads for it. The tank is nice, quiet, no leaking, or weeping. I'm gonna ask my son if he wants it. All he uses is a Trinton, and is not interested in making his own coils.

Decided to pull the dual klaptons and try 28g tonight.

Dual 9 wrap 28g kanthal, 2.5mm, .86ohms, rayon, in a smok tf gt2, on an ipower 80.

From the first pic where i had it fanned out, I basically did and angle cut back to the posts. bent about 15% of the tail down and cut across at the bottom of the ring. took smallest flat mini screwdriver pushed some down in and strands to the bottom. Cut the rest flush with edge of deck, cutting from the top not the side. Trimmed more, got all the stragglers.

Its vaping good.

I did end up later trimming some more in the tails opening up the channels some more cause i thought it might have needed it. No leaks.

Well the smok tf g2 is nice, the problem is the chamber is pressed in with the juice control, similar to the bachelor. Smok did it better by its being trapped so it can't pull out.. But it can, no it will, be a juice weeping point. I like the vape with it, I need something similar but better, lol.

Hey, I angle cut just to the post, where you see the wick is ending. That was just to get rid of some material and get it managable. I basically hacked it all back vertically to fit the chamber, with 10-15% a little bit longer to go down the well. And trimmed that up too to get the fit i wanted. When its wet down all that bush settles iver the juice ports.

After these pics i did pull the tails going in the juice well back out and trimmed half away again from what you can see. So far so good. This was my second wicking of these kinds of tanks.. so tweeking may happen.

You can trim the wicks down to 15% and lay them over the channels and make a slight intention in the rayon over the channels. Doesn't have to be tucked behind the ring.

Main thing is cover the channels and make sure the tails are away from the air flow port below the coils.

I had an interesting thing happen with the Griffin last week. Normally it lets me know when it's time to wick by weeping or leaking through the base. Happened late one night and I just didn't want to rewick it. Took the base out and used a dental pick to push the tails back away from the air flow holes below the coil. Got 2 more days out of the wicking

Yeah theres really no tail trimming so to speak needed, i could just wack it clean off and push some down. The tails are fluffy enough... i ended up i trimming too much and am getting some leaking at times now.

The 28 really just isnt enough for this tank. The claptons were pretty good, a little to warm up but good after that. They seem to run cooler on the wick than single 28g at high wattage, thats for sure. I have some 26 & 24 coming.
