Yep, poking that hole works great to allow air to easily enter the tank. Lots of bubbles after ever pull or two but unfortunately laying the atty on it's side is not an option after pokey pokey...you get leaky leaky.
I've never had a leak doing this. Not using enough rayon, yes.
I keep a Limitless Plus in my pocket almost all day every day. Never leaks.
I also fall asleep with all my attys and I never have a wet spot on my chest. ;)

Ms Sloth has a pair of surgical scissors she is willing to give me but she has used thwm to cut her hair a few times. As much as I love her hair, Im mot a fan of vaping it :D

Think if I boil these in water they would be good? There is no walmart or michaels near me. I could get cuticle scissors at the drug store though.

This discussion had better be at least 2 pages :D

If you have any hydroponics stores you can probably find some nice pointy/sharp scissors meant for plant pruning. That is what I have been using as I had them laying around from my younger years - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product...sfl_title_27?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A9DPA8GOEOIEY

Ceramic scissors for fishing line and the spring loaded fiskars are the best I've used. I like the fiskars because the blades are short, thin, razored and ment for fabric only. $10 at walmart.
If you have a bait and tackle place, they'll have something good.

True it won't leak if the holes close back up, which they do if the wicktails are thick enough. I tried opening them back up on my L+ and Ijoy Combo after they closed up after vaping for while. I made sure a hole stayed open. That was the mistake I made thinking they might not leak. I couldn't even tilt my mod over to do adjustments without leaking juice everywhere. There's definitely a balance, a sweet spot for wicktail thickness to block juice channels on rtas and rdtas.

It's too cold to work outside so I'm gonna drill .023" air bleed holes through the deck of my L+ today. My Aspire Quad Flex RDTAs have those holes and they work much better than the L+. Doesn't seem to matter how much wicktail I use. As long as I use enough to stop leaking the QFs rock the vape hard and never produce anything even close to a dry hit.

I'll post some pics later.

The LP does need that hole.
My biggest complaints about it:
No bleed hole
The screws in the side should have been the same as the top screws. I use the back ups in the side.
Should have had a goon cap instead of the crap plastic threaded crap. Mine are JB welded together.

I wish someone would make one with kennedy or petri posts.
The Augvape RDTA looks nice.

You can try wicking like I do on the LP. Trim your tails way low. Low enough that the entire thickness of the wick is sitting on the hole and the trimmed bit dips in the tank.
I rarely need to tilt it and I can leave it on it's side. I stay in a squatted position all day at work with it in my pocket so it has to be 100% leak proof.

I agree with all that. I wick as you described but also cut the tails super short in the tank. My biggest problem with any tank besides the QFlex is my vaping style at work. Every 30 minutes or so I take 8-10 pulls consecutively with every breath so dry hits under those conditions are a huge problem for me. At home where I vape like a sane person it's not an issue.

When I post pix they are turned 90°. Do you guy's see them like that?

I have that problem with my my iPhone pics. I use MW snap to capture the pic once down loaded to my pc, then I save that, resize to small, then they come out situated correctly. It's the only way I've found to get around it.

Apologies in advance for the multi quotes.

I need help. I can wick rda's with no problem. But tanks I have problems with. Tanks like the Griffin and The Merlin. I use too much trying to keep it from leaking. Not enough and it floods. I can't seem to find the happy medium.

Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

I use cotton in my Griffins and TFV8's. I have the same issues as you if I use rayon.

I use rayon in everything else.

This @whiteowl84 guy really helped me out with my RTAs. My main one, the Griffin 25 is what he showed me how to wick with rayon and every RTA after that has been a breeze.

Pull your rayon through your coil
Cut about 85% off at the coil
Trim the last 15% to the bottom of the wick ring and lay it over the channel. Make a little indent or hole.

I haven't had a leak since doing it this way. And here are the non side ways pics

What kinda scissors do you guys use for trimming and where'd ya get 'em? I've been using a big pair of kitchen scissors and I'm realizing how cumbersome they are. Surgical scissors?

Go to Wal-Mart, Michaels, and get a good pair of small sewing scissors with a sharp point.

Cuticle scissors are my "goto" for trimming. Thin, light and very pointy.

I use cuticle scissors too for the same reason. Still cotton in my Kanger single coils (yea I still use them!) but rayon all the way in all my RTAs/RBAs.

I have yet to find one pair of sciccors to help me in wicking. I use the pointed ones that are a little heavier duty than cuticle cutters like the ones made by Fiskers and then use the cuticle cutters for the finishing touches.

I'm gonna give the little surgical scissors I sanitized a trial today. I don't need to do most of what people do with trimming because I only use bottomfed RDAs (I could probably just cut the tails like cotton, but I prefer them trimmed up a bit). But I do have a difficult time trimming with large kitchen scissors, so something small will help a lot in getting up close and personal. I just hope there's no aftertaste from the echidna hair these little things were cutting before my rayon (yes, Ms Sloth is an echidna...)

Lol.

If they don't work out you can always grab a pair of cuticle scissors at the local grocery or drug store.

Still laughing at the echidna comment.

Same Sally's that has you rayon has a huge selection of nail tools and scissors. The pair I use most I think is for needlepoint.

When I worked at a medical supply store we had suture removal sets with scissors, tweezers, swab and gauze. The swab had an expiration date which made them unsalable after that date. Free is good. I use them for close work.

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
i got my scissors in the pharmacy/make up area of krogers $8,,,i cant remember if they are marketed for haircutting, or for bandages...i dunno

i wanted all metal because i think they hold their strength better than plastic handle ones (the plastics always break or work against the cutting process for me).. i also wanted them to have long 'blade noses' so they could handle a long angle cut in 1 motion. i did not want something that is too large as i would loose accuracy ..i didn't want a pair so small my husband would hate it if he ever took to rewicking/vaping (or that cute young man in my future lol).

this is not the exact pair i got,, but very close
