I suspect that they are reusing wadding that came in something else rather than having a box of something on a shelf.

Also don't go up to the pharmacy guy and ask if he has rayon balls #awkward

:D:  :D

Btw, those who wish to try double insertion wicking, these make it quite easy and are sold at Walmart. Needle threaders:

Good grief, that is a great idea. If I didn't have you smart people to do my thinking for me, I would probably just stumble around in the dark bumping into things.

I do love me some notch coils!
Just put a single in the new vape mail, Limitless RDTA Plus and a HOHM Wrecker G2 LE...
A great feature of the notch coil is you can pull the whole strand of Sally's through, then it's just a quick trim of the tails.
I've been wanting to try them. I just haven't got around to ordering any. I think this has pushed me over the hump. Where's the best deal?

These are the ones I use (B Style), both wires are on the same side and good for Velocity style mounting. I run them at 50W/480F.

$4.54 Demon Killer 316L Stainless Steel Notch Coil Resistance Wire RBA Atomizers (10-Pack) - 0.2ohm / quick heating at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

They make an A Style with the wires on opposite sides, also a smaller C & D... 3F sells them as well if FT is a problem.

The wire legs are quite soft so be aware if you have a leg cutter you are mounting it into. They can be dry burned and cleaned below 30W, eventually the weld might break away from the coil.

Good luck with them, they seem to be a love/hate type of coil.

Thanks, TD! the B Style should be just the ticket and I need to order that replacement glass for my wife's Melo III Mini from FT anyway (even though the new phone has magically made her forget about it...at least until she wants to pull it out and beat me with it in the unforeseen future for something completely unrelated).

Done!

Bringing it forward again for 2016 ;)

Ok guys so finally took some pics of my wicking technique. What instigated this is that getting the right density was a headache especially for beginners. I got got the density right a lot of times but it had always one problem. The center of the cool is always the week spot. When you insert a wick it gets compressed. When you take it back and forth, you secure the edges but the middle of the coil will be the weakest point.

I have said before, when using a dripper sometimes I forget to drip or squonk. I would be busy at work and just forget. So i get a dry hit. With ever dry hit, the middle of the wick goes down. Probably because of scorching a little or because it cannot hold more juice as before I dunno but it does. After that point you will get more dry hits one after the other.

So what I did is use 2 pieces of rayon:

The pieces are of random size not too small but smaller than what you would usually use as a full wick.

You roll the edges:

And now you insert from both sides:

It is not easy the first time but gets really simple the more you do it. Once you have 2 tips showing, hold one and with the other hand (might need a tweezer, I don't anymore) pull the other end.

The trick is to pull both at the same time. They will interlock and provide a consistent thickness in the middle. Don't pull too much for it not to choke. But the benefit here is that the two pieces push each other toward the coil and push out the air without leaving gaps at the center of the coil.

Then cut the tails and put liquid.

I have been using this method for a while. Still dry hit lead to more dry hits but now you get around 4 or 5 warning toots since the wick is touching the coil in more places and takes the form of the coil. The pushing of 2 wicks ensures better coverage at the coil from the inside.

Ha! Looks like the A Style will require the reciprocating insertion method. Instead of the squeak I'll listen for the squeal to know I got it right.

Did you guys know that the electric cars and the tesla are run off the same 18650 cells we use in our cigarettes. They stack thousands of them to make a battery pack. Pretty crazy huh?

Tesla motors is completing the more crazy giga-factory to produce an amount of batteries equal to current world production. They are working with Panasonic and making a new improved cell that is a 2070.

Just learned about this factory, and found it interesting.
