Wow. Jeremy Rayon, you are a star.

:toast:
I dont think he knows how much he really helped others with his work in Rayon.

JeremyR will be a MAJOR part of vaping history.

He kept people from throwing in the towel and returning to cigs.

And to think I found him by accident. It is my belief that no matter what style of vapor you are, that if you are helping someone else to quit smoking with vaping you are REQUIRED to tell them about Rayon as an option......or you are a poor advocate for vaping.

I feel the same way about temp control. The combination of using tc and rayon significantly reduces the risk of producing aldehydes caused by overheating and makes for a much safer form of vaping imo. Not saying vaping is 100% safe but it beats the crap out of deliberately smoking known carcinogenic compounds.

I'd kinda like to know what the build is and what power/temp your running at.

Sorry, I was more focused on the wicking for that little tutorial. The build is 26g SS316L, single strand, 5/6 wrap duals around 3mm mandrel, IIRC. Ohms out at 0.25Ω at room temp. I was running it at 375°F, but have started playing with the settings on the Fuchai. Now it is set at 400°F, and the Preheat Power Adjustment is set to 50W for 1.25 seconds. I've been very impressed with the Fuchia since I got it last Saturday. All the threads and posts that I'd read about it was saying that they completely screwed the pooch with TC for this mod... I've had no issues with it at all, myself.

Cyber hugs for you!

Dawwww... Thanks, hun! :)

Kaez is just that kinda guy.

 you too, clnire. I just like to help folks if I can.

And so am I originally. Born in Angleton not far from you. Lived in Brazoria, Clute, Lake Jackson and Freeport when I was a child. Did my 4 yr. stint in the USAF in San Antonio and stayed there 10 yrs before moving to Austin where I lived for 14 more. I'm more Texan than Arkie for sure but it is beautiful here in the Ozarks.

I've spent a little time up in that area, too. Grew up in Mississippi, moved to Springfield, MO when I was around 16. Joined the Navy at 18 and went to bootcamp about two weeks after graduation. Bounced around from Memphis to Jacksonville to Norfolk, and finally got out and moved here to Houston. My Bride's family lives here, so when I got out of the Navy, we decided this would be as good a place as any to live. ;)

I couldn't agree more. The combination of rayon and TC vaping is as good as it gets in my book.

Your wicking tutorial with pics helped me immensely  after sticking the little cut off bits of rayon I filled it halfway & after 4 hits came pouring out, stuffed it with more bits & no more leaks.
But I'm trying to return it cos omg I was building it on the Coilmaster 521 tab (never had a prob with it) and the ohm's keep jumping, long story short, after spending 3 hours & 6 coils later checking & rechecking there was nothing touching the deck, no bits of wire I shook the heck out of the 521 tab & build deck. Put it on an Evic Vtc mini (notorious for having a short 510) & the ohm's were stable, my conclusion the gold plated 510 is recessed into the 510 screw on the atty. I think it's not making a stable connection it was such a PITA! The whole time I thought it was my coils, I try 28g SS316L, 26g kanthal, etc.
But I have a IJoy Tornado Nano & I will be able to use your tutorial for wicking with it!:)

I'm sorry, Heart. :( Definitely sounds like you may have a problem with your tank... I guess I got lucky with mine, because it's been really stable. Of course, I lock the resistance for TC, but I typically recheck it every morning and re-lock the resistance (before I take my first hit of the day, so the coil is at room temp). I've not seen any real variance to it at all so far. I'm glad that the tutorial helped you, though. Depending on just how much you trim off, you may need a few more bits. I've only done it twice now, but it's still holding up well for me. I hope the Nano-Nado works better for you than the Mage did. :)

Make sure it's not the CoilMaster 510 Tab. Mine seemed ok when I got it, but then I started getting ohm readings all over the place. Its cheaply made. Decided to finally get a good one, from USA Ohm Meters.

It is the Coilmaster one, I've been lucky with it (fingers crossed) I doubled check with another tank & it was reading correctly but once I put the Mage on it, the resistance was jumping. Hence my conclusion. But I will remember USA Ohm Meters for when the 521 dies. Thanks!

I do appreciate you saying such wonderful things, but it's really not that big of a deal. All I did was slow down a l'il and take a coupla pictures. With the way my memory has been lately, I'll probably end up using them more than you will! :lol: Just happy that I could help a l'il bit. :) {{{{{{{{{{Heart}}}}}}}}}}

I do know. It was many hours and dedication 24/7 to make sure it wasn't stifled that first year. I knew what it could do, and keeping people vaping was the ultimate goal. I knew that the ease and reduction of maintenace would help many many people stick with it.

I hope that I am at vape legend status.. But only the history books will really tell.. Outside of Ecf I'm not so sure im given credit.. But I still feel the love when others are using it regardless. I know what I did. :)

You know what they say one person can change the world.. Albeit the small vaping world. Lol

So just a reminder.. If you have trouble with a build that doesn't stand up to your normal wattage or the wicks are darkening a lot. The wick is too loose..

I just had one that was pretty loose, I was off because I used nichrome for the first time. It would only handle about 32w instead of 42 and the wicks were turning real dark.. Big gaps at the coil... Thing wasn't touching the whole top of the coil damn near. No wonder it liked 30w.

Well I've been super busy and didn't Rewick it for a while, probably 100ml. After all I was still able to use it just at a lower power level.

Finally had to pull it quick before work and throw another wick in.. A little tighter this time.. Ah much better. Taking 45w vaping like a champ..

That sounds better! NiChrome is still my 'go-to' wire for power builds. I typically use 26g, but will throw in some 24g when I really want to have something that I can throw some power at. I usually run NiChrome in the Stumpy on a regulated squonker. Around 0.75Ω and anywhere between 40-60W. Last night I threw a quick build in a new RTA and ran it at 100W for about half the night with no dry hits at all...

Speaking of high power, if anyone likes multiple coils, large builds, I have a GeekVape Tsunami to PIF. It's a sweet rda, but too large for my use.

Keeping it on topic: it can be wicked with rayon :)

Edit: It's found a new home :)
