Question for you guys, I wrapped a 26/32g Clapton, 3mm, 6 wraps spaced wicked tight in the coil trimmed & tucked in one Merlin Mini, perfect. Did the exact same thing to second Merlin Mini I thought, but vaping at preheat of 31 watts for 2 seconds, then 29 watts the coils pop, I tried lowering the coil, raising the coil, still pops :w00t: don't know what I did different, any thoughts? Thanks!

I get that with some builds too. Sometimes raising the power helps get rid of a sharp pop (snap). Sometimes when it does that I find a wrap that is out of uniformity, letting too much juice pool in that area. Sometimes I never figure it out and just live with it till I get off my lazy and rebuild.

I've never used a Clapton spaced before, they are always contact for me.
The popping can be caused by the spacing of the coil, try making the gaps wider or narrower and see if it goes away. Also not enough wick can cause it, try putting in a little more than you usually do.

sometimes it just needs time to breakin and mellow out or not enough power for coil and wick combo.
we are not automated robots so each new coil and/or wick setup will never be exactly the same as the one we made previously.
i chain vape so im too cheap to buy an atty that only uses premade coils

I thought that was a baby echidna (spiney anteater).
My bad - that is an anteater [emoji5]
Ooh, that Sloth is tricky! I thought it was his baby picture [emoji3]

Do a search on Ice scissors for fly tying. They work great for small trimming we do. Some even have one side serrated to keep fibers in place as you cut. I've had mine for over 30 years from a company that don't exist anymore. Don't tie flies anymore (old eyes) and they work great.
