I have nothing to add that hasn`t already been said across these two mega threads
but have been using rayon exclusively since June `14 (settled with Graham after testing a few types)

The fact I don`t use anything else is testament enough to how useful it is and anyone who hasn`t yet tried it, in my opinion, should do. :thumb:

Happy New Year Rayonati :rickroll:

I having been getting alerts for new posts- a lot of catching up.

Spotted that a couple Rayonati from South Oz popped in-
Kotex Capital

Edit: Damn, i'm seriously impressed! The flavor is better and the vaporization has an entire other sound, much more quiet and "stable" with less "popping" too.

The quietness was one of the first things I noticed.
I kept thinking my mod wasn't firing until I tasted the vapour.

I've had problems with the Bachelor seeping liquids with Graham and had developed a technique to stuff the ports to prevent that

Thanks- a couple people I know struggled with the Bachelor.
One has tencel, so I just sent him a link to your post.

I resisted for so long because of that pbusardo wicking test and because of it, thought that it was all hype. First after trying it for the first time by chance, I read the test was flawed in several ways in Jeremy's beginning threadposts.

Recently, I had a minor disagreement about that vid.
PB said changeover is much quicker with rayon, which, imo, indicates it wicks faster

A search didn`t show anything but has anyone managed to find a reliable source for bulk Graham`s Rayon in/to the United Kingdom ?

I`ve got 9oz of the stuff in smaller packs (who knows what total length that could amount to) that was acquired over time from various places so don`t exactly need any now - but the large box shipping cost direct from the U.S. is extortionate the last time I checked.

Product is $20 but the shipping is around $70 !!! (then the risk of being further robbed by customs of course)

Never did find a local supplier or a cost effective global one.

I was given this link. I'm not sure if it would still be free shipping to the UK.

Was hoping locals would organise a group buy.

Have you asked on UK forums?

I have the same problem, so about a year ago I googled tencel for spinning and restricted the region to local-
100gm for about US$6- probably a lifetime supply.

It's brilliant in RDA, once you get the hang of it.

Anecdotally, for RTA, it's better combined with the rope version.
(I think the person was very new to tencel.
I've found it really easy in STM RBA)

Thanks all :thumb:

I may just have to bite the bullet one day later this year and get the 3lb box shipped over from the states, I shouldn`t need to worry about buying any for quite some time after that.

I did check all the UK beauty/hairdressing suppliers & wholesalers but nothing showed up, which was weird I thought.

re bachelor rta - mine after almost a year started leaking/weeping. i wick w/rayon and always have thinned the tails to the extreme.
changed out the orings, the 2 that go around rba head, when screwing down the tank portion i noticed that it wasnt touching the base as it was b4 w/the old orings, if i maybe torgue it down real hard maybe it will but all leaks have gone, dry as a bone

Yeah, they can get stiff over time, and don't seal well then. Good to hear you had the simple fix! :thumb:

(And it's usually a simple fix, once one's done it! )
odd thing is the old ones looked fine, but over all too skinny imo, they needed a better oring in size/thickness as to be able to torque down the tank to get a better compression fit.
if it fails again i might test out teflon tape lol or find beefer orings at hardware store

Cellucotton works well in my 30mm postless Aromamizer Plus.
Dual 4mm fused clapton coil at .3Ω
I only trimmed the tails about 1/5 thickness and it kept up with 120W better than I can.
The vapor was too thick at 120W but I wanted to see what it could do.
I've settled it at 82.5W It's more reasonable and enjoyable.

Same build here. I am really impressed with the Plus and it's ease of building/wicking capability.
I also went back to the 10ml tank from the 20ml for a bit, a little more flavor with the shorter chimney.

Mines great too with only a single coil clapton

The Plus would be great with a single coil Clapton, I'll have to try it next rebuild.
I tried that on the Supreme's postless deck. The coil has to be angled for a sideways wicking and the whistle just ruins any enjoyment...

How's your google-fu? Search out the sized you need at a place that won't gouge you for the shipping to Canada :)

Or one of the "kits" for an assortment?

Rayonati,

Is there a smallish box of 100% rayon available anywhere? I still have a couple of baggies of it, but eventually I'll be needing some. I don't really want that huge ol' Sally's box of it tho....

Perhaps I'll put up a Want To Buy for a few strands! :D
