i saw someone on another forum say they liked it. i haven't even used 20' of my 40' box of 44130 yet
Yeah my box of 44130 is my go to wicking material, but I wound up with 4 boxes of 42251. The shipping cost makes returning it not worth while, so for now they just sit. Maybe one day I'll get brave and daring...

I've used it on roses, don't know about cotton. You sprinkle the pesticide on the ground. It dissolves and goes into the soil where it is absorbed by the roots and then transported through the plant. Not something you can wash off.

No idea it something like that would leach out of cotton anyway. Could be silly to worry about.

I used the Sally's cotton (small bag) and actually found it to be more flavorful than the cotton bacon I was using. I used it on accident as I'd thought I bought the correct stuff. I didn't have any problems with it and really liked it.

Use it to pack the Christmas ornaments :)

Hi, everyone! I stumbled across this thread the other day (wow, it's kind of "hidden away" in the submenus ), became interested and sort of googled around for Rayon for vaping in EU, didn't really find anything, and went on to do other stuff. Then yesterday while ordering something from Creme de Vape in UK I searched for rayon on the site, and voila! They carry something just called "CelluCotton Beauty Coil," for only £1.00 (for a meter), so I figured I'd order some and give it a try.

Looking a bit through this thread, it looks like this is the same Graham rayon that some people use? (they don't have any brand name included on the site where I ordered, just "CelluCotton Beauty Coil")

Is this fine to use? Also, does anyone here wick a Kayfun Mini 3 with rayon? I'm pretty sure I'm going to need some tips!

It looks like they cropped the photo off the Graham CelluCotton box or advertisement photo. As long as it says 100% rayon it is, indeed, what many of us in this thread are using as our "go to" wicking material.

Just make sure you use more than you think you need or you would use if wicking with cotton. When the density is right you will hear/feel a squeak as it is pulled through the coil. Generally, after getting the rayon through the coil, trim the tails to 50% or less. Rayon wicks voraciously and very little is needed to supply a great vape. Of course, you do need to leave enough to prevent leaks.

Welcome to the world of rayon. Good luck and feel free to ask if you have questions/problems.

Just found this thread last week. On page 30. Got some catching up to do. I've been using rayon for a few months now, I got a small pack from eBay. The dog got into it & I'm almost out. Now, before I go to Sally's and get some more, Jeremy mentioned that the medical grade was better. I found these Rayon Ball, Medium, Non-Sterile doesn't seem too bad price wise what do you all think?

Those are Medline balls and should be fine. Be aware, though, that you will need to unroll the balls to be able to use them. That can be a PITA just finding the end to unroll. I will say if you order them you'll have a lot of (rayon) balls, 4000 of them.

I have only used Graham CelluCotton (Sally's). It works fine for me and many others in the rayon world. The medical balls do have a more consistent fiber, more consistent alignment of the fibers, than Graham. In terms of which is best, as the old saying goes, YMMV depending on how patient you are and if you can detect the very small differences between them when vaping.

I had ordered the recommended Delasco's rayon balls. Also medical grade non-sterile early on in my rayon journey & I used once can't remember if it was better than Sally's. But I do remember wanting to save the for when I was more experienced with rayon. It's been over a year? Maybe it's time to pull them out to try.

So, question is, are they better than Sally's? If so, worth the extra effort? Any other ideas where one can find the best quality? Or is the difference negligible?
Sally's is more coarse than the balls. If there's a chance of a tank leaking I always use Sally's. The balls are easier to work with once you unroll them. ;)

It's not going to be better or worse on a scale that is perceptible. I tried the tampons and some of the other stuff. It takes too long to straighten out the fibers.

It all works exactly the same, if you've ever tried fiber freaks its like that, just get the Sally's stuff.

I don't want to have to prep nothing, did that with hemp fiber to remove all the off colored shards, bunnies and to align the fibers in one direction . The hemp was a superior alternative to cotton but the rayon left both them behind. Hassling with unwrapping and straightening fibers I can't be bothered. I have several feet of rayon in a snap lid container, cut, wick and enjoy. Only concern is not getting dust into the big box in the closet by the time I get to the 500th foot.
I never shopped for different rayons(if they exist). Soon as I heard rayon can be used, researched a bit and becoming an alternative to cotton and hemp, I went to all the hairdressers in town to hopefully find this miracle fiber. Found and got a couple feet from a hairdresser discovered nirvana with this wicking material, after that I bought the 44060 box and been riding the wave since.

Herrick, the way rayon wicks you can just change the liquid without rewicking. There will be a few hits of "mixed" flavor but the change is very fast. I routinely change flavors and never rewick when I d it unless I need new coils.

Ditto, no need to rewick when changing flavors.:thumb:
Cinnamon and blueberry flavors can ghost for a while though.

Damn. I wish I knew that before. Do you rinse the rayon at all before using a different flavor?
