After working with rayon, CC from Sally's, and Tencel in my little CE3 micro tanks for a few days I've come to the conclusion that rayon won't work well in the CE3. The Tencel does a pretty good job though. The problem is not a "fault" of rayon, but more of a direct result of how well it wicks. The CE3 is normally used on a stick battery so there is no way to up the power to handle the added amount of liquid that rayon provides to the coil. The flavor is better than silica, by far, but the vapor output just isn't there at all. I confirmed this theory by putting a CE3 on a Spinner and upping the voltage to about 4.3. That did produce great flavor and vapor but I lose the advantage of hands free operation that a stick battery provides.
Since switching, exclusively, to using either a rayon or Tencel wick in the devices I use all day, and that includes bigger VV/VW stuff as well, I have noticed I am coughing less. I'm attributing that to less throat irritation since there are no microscopic shards of silica/fiberglass being produced by the wicks. On the other hand, my liquid use has increased about 50% and is at about 10ml per day as opposed to 7ml per day on silica wicks.
Overall, unless there is some hidden problem with rayon based wick products that no one has discovered yet (which I seriously doubt) I am converted!
