So you basically have a single coil that "sits" on top of a rayon cloud? Is that it or do you have a rayon wick that goes inside the coil too?

Yep, the coil sits on top of a fluffed bed of rayon. One end is pressed down into the cloud while the other end (the one near the air hole) is exposed.

So what is the consensus with the wick thickness? Shove the largest roll you can or just snug? I am also on the scratchy side but on certain tanks and juices. For instance my key lime pie is about 10x more lime then oc but much much less pie and graham crackers and a little scratchy. Now for my chocolate milkshake it is outstanding, like straight Hershey's in a glass of milk with no scratchy. The chocolate shake is in a evod coiled

A scratchy hit is usually from having the wick too tight I don't nesasarrily shove it in. I don't compress it at all. I pull it till tight then while holding the other end stretch it down so it continues to slide though so it's even in both sides.

In this video the density comes out just right. Going on 60+ ml with this wick still. It's hard to tell but I'm holding the other end of the wick and pulling it to make the rayon stretch enough to slide through... I will make another vid soon so you can see it better. That's how I get the right density every time.

Also make note half the video is just priming it. It takes a few minutes.

Also I wonder if the funny taste that some are experiencing is related to the genetic ability to taste PTC. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenylthiocarbamide

In the article, it mentions the correlation between ability to taste PTC and disliking Brassica plants (cabbages, broccoli, mustards, Brussels sprouts).

Now, this might be coincidence, not correlation, but I love those things and I've had no "bad taste" when it comes to rayon.

What I'm wondering is: if you've had a bad taste, do you dislike those foods? If you haven't had a bad taste, do you like those foods?

Rayon = No Taste
Brassica Plants = Like

What if I hate the vegetables but absolutely love mustard? CCr wick, no taste except to start for the first hit or two if I put in too much. In fact that's what I check when I take my initial puff once I've put the chamber and cap on my Kayfun but before the tank.

There is no ptc in rayon so I don't see the correlation...

You taste rayon because your using too much..

I know I did it right when I only taste juice from beginning to end.

First post of this thread no taste, first vape, and following ... pure juice that's it.

I think it's just one of those weird scientific things that your tastebuds do, not so much the ptc content in rayon. Coincidence? Maybe. I get pure flavor too, and I love all those veggies...except for brussels sprouts! Yuck!

I've been reading through the Zmax thread and you mentioned how you built a coil to replicate cartos. :p That's it, pictured on your OP, right? I don't wanna drip - is there an RBA that you know of that I can do that to? I used to love cartos, but hated throwing them away, so I cleaned them - PITA.

I respectfully disagree. I did one wick in my feeder recently that was so little rayon that it didn't properly fill the coil once saturated and used for a while -- in other words clearly too little. I still tasted the rayon it for a short while at the beginning.

May be just the Sally's CCr then. I can't vouch for consistency of the quality. We don't have the exact same rayon or wicking style. Or after doing it so long I can nail the density. It is a fine line to hit it perfect.

I taste nothing but juice maybe you can pick it up with better taste buds. It's the cleanest wick I've ever used. To me its like saying you taste water the most neutral drink.. But if you taste it for a few pulls, well I'm approaching 60-70 mls+ Of pure vg on this last wicking; and coil and wick are still clean , so not bad.
