I just noticed this too! I rewicked with rayon for the first time yesterday and today my origen v2 dripper took 43 drops 43!!!!!!
Care to share some pictures of your build and how you placed the rayon inside the origen? I have a Quasar and I'm really curious about this.

I did a horizontal twisted 28ga @0.5 0hm and I put the coils low as possible, I think horizontal is the best BC it puts more wick in the juice and it's coming up from both sides of the coil. It's also the only build I've put in it and for what it's worth, I like the quasar better. Cod just be due to the fact that it's a bit higher than my sweet spot,

Thanks very much for the pictorial - definitely going to try this on the R91!

Will shoot for a 1.5+ ohm coil, for the provari - hope it'll heat a tidge quicker than the straight micro that's on it now.

Edit: How far above the top of the chimney base are you trimming the wicks on the Russian before packing the wells? Would it be the same on the R91?

Well, they need to be long enough to lay flat along both juice decks, and depending on how much longer they are, and how everything looks, will either squish it back a tad to make room or cut it a tad long so that I have to squish it back. If tail came out to short, can either readjust the whole wick, or just add a small section that can be tucked into the deck and tucked back on top of the exiting wick leg. Both ramie and rayon are easy to add or subtract wicking to if you don't get it just right the first time.

I don't so much as pack the wick as gently tuck it in while keeping everything nice and tidy/ uniform.. if it looks right, I don't mess with it, if it needs some more, will tuck some in. I also pre-wet and form wicks before wicking my rba's.

Oh, and if you weren't talking to me, then, .............. Never mind.

Anybody else doing clearo coils with rayon? Most of the posts seem to be RDA/RBA stories.

I washed and dried a couple of top coil tank clearos. The rayon and coil are clean but the rayon looks compacted and no longer slides in the coil on one, and feels loose on another. Not sure I want to rewick every time I clean a device.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Paul, I've been fooling with T3 originals. So far I've had varying success. Getting just the right amount of rayon into the coil is, as always, the big key. I have one that slowly leaks itself dry and another that doesn't. I may try a "flavor wick" with additional rayon to try to cure that leaker. I haven't taken any of them apart yet so I can't comment on wick/coil condition after use.

I have examined a Protank head that I rebuilt. After over 50ml of liquid it started to lose output and flavor clarity. It did show some gunk on the wick and coil, so I may not have had the coil density perfect. On the other hand, performance was far better than stock and the same is true of longevity.

I get this part, I didn't understand why.

By the way, your username: XPEN, if it was: XPEH and you read Cyrillic, it would mean Horse Reddish or in a slang term: penis
Phew that was close, missed it by just one letter.. Nice to know I'm almost a ....., somehow/somewhere, but I'm sure you didn't mean to call me names :)

Back to business: on average how long is your rayon wick lasting, before the flavor gets altered somehow?

I'm getting way shorter wick duration than most people here, apparently.. Every couple days I need to rewick because some burned smell starts to surface..
Micro coil around 1ohm @12W; definitely nothing extreme, I'm puzzled.

I've been subscribed to a couple of pt threads and am following the progress of those using rayon. Just haven't seen people wash and reuse yet here or there. Cheap enough to toss each time, I know, but two vapers can go through a few quickly. I'm thinking of telling the wife to just change heads each time she refills a tank. I've got a pile of them now.

I run 80-90 ml with no change. 2 weeks adv, hangsen tobaccos.

Sounds like your running it too tight. Or it's not wicking from the tank properly. Don't compress the wick.

Pull a fresh fluffy piece off 2-3 time the width size of coil. Point it pull it lightly till it gets tight and stops . Then stretch it to be able to pull it through even on both sides. Lightly snug but not tight! After an hour you should not have shoulders bigger than the od of coil. It should not be smaller than ID of coil.

I've been using CC for over one month, but in the beginning my biggest mistake was using too much .. once I started doing it with a little less and exactly like Jeremy said above, from then on all my wicks came out perfect. There's a pretty narrow margin between too much and too little, but once you hit it you will know it from then on.

I'm not the healthiest of folks and the current never ending extreme humidity has pretty much kept me inside with the AC running constantly to try to keep the humidity down inside. So I've been in 72 degrees for about a week and a half or so. I'm sure by now you're wondering what this has to do with Rayon and CCr.

To get on topic, as I've been blowing clouds here with my Kayfun (simple horizontal coil, 1.7 ohm) and Fogger V4 (dual horizontal coils, 0.8 ohm) I've been staring at the way the vapor cloud moves. Noticing just how much it resembles cigarette smoke vs the vapor cloud I've grown accustomed to over the past 4 years. I've been thinking on comments about how vapor droplets are like 10x the size of smoke particles which is why even with similar nicotine concentrations vaping doesn't seem to deliver the nicotine as well. And how folks talk about the nic hit on their first rayon wick.

Could it be possible that rayon wicks better or differently or more efficiently than other materials and we're getting smaller vapor particles? And that's why the vape tastes different, nic seems to be delivered in higher dosages and the vapor looks like smoke more so than it did before?

Just some of the random thoughts wondering around up there ;)

Great post!!
I would love to get into this later, and yes on all points. The vapor is even more like smoke. I used to be able to see mist droplets in the sun now I don't seem to see that.

I would like to see the thread Go more in this direction
