I haven't had time to read through this whole thread, but saw enough to convince me to give rayon a try. I like it! The strange thing is, my rda seems to be running cooler than when wicked with cotton. Anyone else experience this? FWIW I'm running dual 24 ga macros on a CLT at .21 ohms. Will attach pic.

Quick update:

Been using rayon exclusively for a while now, and I don't know what I'm doing differently, but I'm not getting any of the bitter flavor I got at the beginning. I went from using the boiled to the rinsed, and still a straight, clean flavor. Once I'm through with my rinsed CC, I'll try using it straight outta the box and see if I notice anything. But otherwise, great performance all the way around.

CC for the win! :)

If I were you, looking at the pic and numbering the posts 1-4 left to right, I'd go for 1to 3 on one side and 2to4 on the other side to center up you coils and even out your wicks

I usually do that with longer coils, but wanted to keep the legs as short as possible on this build. I appreciate your response though, that's what I was assuming in regards to the coolness. Count me in on the rayon fanwagon!

It's cooler BC it's getting more juice on the coil.

In fact on all my attys I have to raise the power level to get the same amount of vapor. This is especially true on my dripper.

With cotton the wick looks wet with Rayon it looks like it is coated with Jell-O not that is thick or anything if you touch it is just liquid. The rayon just hold it without dripping as if by magic. I know, I know a little overly dramatic but none the less true.

So my coils are not just up against something wet they are partially submerged into the juice requiring more heat to overcome the cooling effect of the liquid.

I am going to quit with this explanation before someone calls the mental health people.

PS - I don't sub ohm I generally run 1.8 to 2.0 ohm coils.

Your welcome!

Welcome to the group, the wicks *may* be a little light if that's a pic shortly after wicking. Check to make sure the coil isn't higher than the wick, ie. That the wick is still in full contact later. If not you will dry burn the top of the coil. Rewick with more if the wick loses contact.

Good luck!
Thanks Jeremy, you are correct. After about an hour or so it wasn't that I was getting a horrible taste or anything but it didn't seem to be as good. So I rewicked based on your recommendation and now it's been fantastic for the last 3 hours

Thanks for reporting in dj.

Just confirms most issues for new users are related to getting through the learning curve . :)

NOT the fault of the rayon.
