You know, I've been thinking about all the "negatives" of using rayon, so from now on I'm using cellulose instead. Maybe that'll get the chicken littles a little more satisfied.

Mt. Baker laid some cellulose on you... WOW!!! Jeremy may go down in history as one of the great vaping heroes.

PS - Plastic was my first Knee-Jerk reaction also.

Lol... Yeah cellulose :) .. Rayon scares people.. Sorry it's just that bad azz!

Yeah I'm comming up in this vape game, bursardo contacted me the other day... Questioning its safety, we had a few emails back and forth... haven't heard anything back yet since my last message. I think the killer rayon may have scared him away....

We'll see if he can taste his juice on rayon... err I mean pure cellulose fiber.

Marketeered name: CNVWF - Carbon Neutral Vegan Wood Fiber

If you squeezed Organic Non-GMO in there we could sell it for $80 an inch.
Cottage industry my friend, cottage industry...

Going on a trip next week, maybe I'll take 2' to be extra safe
Up next, re-wicking an AeroTank coil with it that has been a massive fail with cotton.

You guys really need to check out the fogger v4
I've had the foggers and kayfuns and russians. Never really enjoyed them like I do RDA's. I keep hearing good things about the V4. What's so great about it? I'm on the fence again thinkin about pulling the trigger on one.

90's music videos were mine... But i think I'm confusing rayon with spandex.. :-/

Rayon was more like fake silk (i.e., MC Hammer pants) back in the day. I think that's why it gets associated with nylon, Orlon and plastic - it's used as the fake version of a nicer fabric. Plus, it ends with "-on."

Jeremy,

For what it is worth a few days ago I sent a note to Graham Inc. customer inquires department asking for their MSDS. I also explained what the intended use was and if they had any health concerns from their Chemistry folks.

Don't know if they will answer but if and when they do I'll let you know.

Contacted by bursardo... Geez that's almost as good as a call from the POTUS. :toast:

PS - if anyone from the government called me I would be packed and gone by now... who's paranoid.

The v4 is a dual coil kf style atty with glass tank and more capacity, it's the flavor of a kf with way more vapor production. @0.5 0hm to 1.4ohm, it's the best rebuildable tank atty out right now and probably will be for a while... And it's only thirty bucks.

Yeah, one of the guys went into the back room and came out with about 2' of Cellucotton in a Ziploc baggie. I'm sure it didn't hurt that I was buying two Russian 91%s to go with the one I had bought from them the week before, but they are a friendly & helpful lot.

re: the lousy taste some users—including me—have experienced from time to time, it may be due to under-wicking. I suspect rayon would much rather be over- than under-stuffed, even to the point of excess.

Here's why: I recently bought a Taifun GS clone (the skinny 3ml one, not the bigger GT which is a different animal altogether). In response to a query of mine on another forum thread, Ease, a fellow rayon enthusiast with lots of Taifun experience, advised me to get SS mesh for the two wicks that run from the build deck up into the tank, and use rayon between the coil & the mesh.

I'm not one to reject friendly & helpful advice (or free samples, even if I don't know what they are :)), so I ordered some mesh and expect to receive it tomorrow. In the meantime I wanted to play with my new toy, so I wicked it up with rayon only. The GS design is such that a shrunken wick would likely flood the coil & deck, so I brutally stuffed the two ends up into the collar thingy, figuring "What the heck, it's only a trial run/test fire of my brand-new tank and my virgin 'Clapton' coil. Probably a writeoff, but I may learn something."

Imagine my surprise when I had a vape & it was really, really good!

I intended to keep using it till the SS came in, then do a mesh/rayon/mesh re-wick, but yesterday I clumsily unscrewed the 2nd-lowest collar on the GS, pulling the stubby little wick ends out of their super-snug holes. No chance of threading them back through, so I hauled the thing apart & did a second wick, just as brutal as the first. Worked again, and it's still working.

The used wick pulled out fairly easily, and that's when I got my second surprise: even the part inside the coil was clean. Slightly discolored in places, but nothing like the blackened, crusted mess I've hauled out of our Russians on several previous occasions.

Sorry to be so long-winded, but I thought this was worth passing on & explaining in some detail.

foggdawg,

Do you have a vendor you recommend for the V4? I am looking at pulling the trigger on a V4.3 but thought you might have a good reliable vendor. Translation a "Good Vendor" is really fast shipping. ;)

Cindy,

It still is used for faux silk fabrics, "MC Hammer Pants" (boy does that age date you) and men's ties.

Yeah, I know. I still wear some! (not MC Hammer pants, and yes, I'm that old, and proud of it!)
Less ironing and I'm lazy.

Well I am that old also... but old enough that proud is not the word I would use anymore.

When you wear you MC Hammer whatevers do you dance around the house singing "You Can't Touch This". :D
