Thanks, Holman!! I'll check it out!

Crap, Cindy... I haven't even gotten everything that I just got yet... LMAO!!
I have gotten both of the Tobhs, and my 200ml of juice came in yesterday... highly recommend nolavape.com, by the way! Great juice, cheap price, and several pg/vg ratios to choose from!
Wire should be here in the next day or so... mods are still a few weeks out... Perseus atty? fasttech... 'nuff said! And I think it'll be almost a month before my 4-wire milli-ohm meter will get here... they must be next door to fasttech....

Kaezziel,

Your welcome. Watch out what you buy it's like the cellucotton they make it in two flavors WIRE and Ribbon kanthal. I prefer the wire I have not had good luck with any ribbon kanthal. I think the problem with the ribbon wire is it doesn't embed deep enough into the wick material allowing a lot of heat to go the wrong direction. IMHO.

PS - I use them all the time they make like really simple and not "Hot Leads" and/or wasted power. We all have to do our part to keep Vaping "Green". ;)

Green vaping? Oh how things have degraded!

awsum,

You don't want your great, great, great grandchildren to say things like this used to be a nice planet if only our ancestors had not wasted so much electrical power in their vaping machines increasing green house emissions do ya.

Sitting down, facing forward.
You know, I never considered how "climate change" could be influenced by vaping. Not only the power consumed/green house gases emitted, but the vapor also blocking additional sunlight. Wait, if we block sunlight that will OFFSET the warming but trap more emitted heat, or is it the other way around?

Yeah, I noticed that they had ribbon and wire.... I'm not really diggin' the ribbon myself... haven't tried it, and if I did, I'd probably twist it anyway... part of what I do for a living deals with a lot of thermal dynamics (as well as fluid dynamics and pressures), so I see what you mean about the ribbon... half of your heating surface is facing the opposite direction if you wind it flat. Would be great if you could insulate the entire outside surface, but not very practical... I may very well order some of the wires from Madvapes though... one package would be enough to try out for a long time! I absolutely appreciate the tip!

Awsum,

Don't reject your first assumption it is like they tell you in college your first answer is probably correct so don't change it. Ergo "Vapor" will block the sun helping to cool the planet.

Vape on Dude. :D

PS - We are even using recycled Cellulous. Gee I feel like running out and hugging a tree.

Heck, that indoctrination will start in kindergarten.

Already has, I'm afraid.... have you seen some of the crap they've been teaching kids in the last 10 years?!?
I'm only 38 years old.... I am sooooo afraid of the care my generation will receive when/if I make it to that point in life... I was taught to respect my elders and to help those in need, I think this new generation is taught to blame us for everything and expect all of their needs to be taken care of by others...

Well just goes to show ya you shouldn't have doubted you first conclusion.

I can't remember grade school. High School was a blur as was my first attempt at college after getting out of the service. However my second attempt at college was successful and I actually remember most of it. :toast:

Which brings another thought to mind I was watching 20/20 or 60 minutes (He!! I don't know) but anyway they were interviewing a guy making a gazillion dollars in Colorado sell "Electronic Cigarettes" that use.... well something else besides nicotine. So the next time your are driving down the road vaping and the cops see you - well you get the picture. No I don't know what prompted me to mention this but I do get a little paranoid vaping and driving only now it won't be paranoia it will be real "they really are out to get me" and make me pour my expensive e-juice into some kind of test bag.

OK - that's it I am going to go out and find a lonely tree and stop harassing this thread with my mindless ramblings.

I don't think you're gonna be able to post what happens between you and the tree here.... this is a family forum... ;)

And besides that, we enjoy your mindless ramblings, Holman! How else am I supposed to make it through a work day....

Alright... I'm outta here for the day. I'll catch you cats tomorrow! Have a good night!

I always wonder about vaping while a police office is in direct view, but I do it anyway. If he's curious, given the other nefarious purposes that vaping devices can be used for, he'll ask and I'll answer. But the same is true of a tobacco cigarette.

What boggles my mind is the push to legalize pot and ban smoking, like pot is totally harmless and without consequences....duhhhhhh!

So after about 6 tanks on my PT2, maybe 2 days worth I was starting to get a burnt taste. I decided to pull it apart to see what was going on inside.

The coil I was using was a 6/7 wrap of 30 gauge kanthal, 1/16 I.D. and running at 11 watts. I found the coil gunked up and then I pulled the wick, it had a black band from where the coil was but after rinsing it was just a light grey, not burnt.

My question is has anyone just rinsed the whole thing and burned it to clean the coil? Pic below.

Well I guess I lied about getting out of here fore awhile.

But in the same show I watched last night they brought up that subject and said generally pot smoking is worse than cigarettes to your health. Actually they said a lot more but I don't know if this topic is ECF approved so I won't say any more other than I agree with you completely.

Now that is the kind of Glaze my coils get and Yes I do burn them clean. With the exception that I use the "Rip Tripper" burn and clean method.

I don't have the link to the "Rip Tripper" cleaning but if you go to YouTube and search "Rip Tripper" coil cleaning you will pop right up. I posted a link a day or two ago here but I have terrible luck searching ECF... I think it hates me.

That seems awfully premature.
Were you able to pull the wick out easily? If so it was too loose. It looks a little too light. You want it snug in the coil. Go a little thicker and trim the tails short. If you pull both sides of the wick near the chamber it will make it smaller so you can pull more thickness though without pulling the coil. When you get to the point it stops in the coil grab both sides and stretch it and pull the part that stopped all the way to the other side. You should feel and hear the rayon song (squeak) at this point.

When the rayon is too loose the coil loses contact with the wick and the coil will overheat causing gunking.

Back on topic, again, I did a post mortem on the first two CE3s I rebuilt in the middle of last month, call it 27ml through both of them. Keep in mind these are, literally, carto sized with no filler. The coils were gunked to crap. The wicks pulled out with some resistance so I think I had enough cellulose in them.

Overall, I consider it a very successful test of cellulose and how long it can last. At best, I used to get two weeks out of a silica build and certainly not with the vapor and flavor of cellulose.

Jeremy, your efforts have helped me find vaping heaven, a way to have a small, portable, no hands, good performing device! Thanks just isn't enough.
