Living in a box of CelluCotton
I am still of the same mind as the rest of us here. The product seems harmless and seems to work well. I have burned some myself alongside cotton to try it out and think the cellucotton performs better than cotton. Burned wicks are the issue for me.

What I can't test is any chemical residue so was reading up. There are a lot of scary sounding names used in rayon manufacture. There are also multiple kinds of rayon so it is easy to confuse.
My unscientific testing procedure was burning it, vaping it (so far no burned wicks), and (sorry all) tasting. I put a little ball in my mouth and sucked on it for a few minutes and could not taste any strange residue.
I am vaping it.

You mouth must have been dry after sucking on that CC, surprised it didn't absorb all the moisture in your body. :p

Thanks for the insight, pretty much how I feel. The fibers smell clean and absolutely disintegrate with an open flame, no off colors or smells there, either. I suppose without some expensive lab work or something we can't truly know, but what I do know is I vaped with silica for a long while and simply cannot go back after using cotton. Silica just tastes wrong anymore.

It took someone to believe me before it took off. The earth is not flat didn't take on till more people beloved it and actually tried to reach the end only to find they ended up right back where they started. :)

Pretty soon I will put together a compilation the scientific related posts on rayon. Realize I'm smart but I could be wrong about something and have no problem if someone has a legit argument...;)

Been waiting on this Jeremy, won't dip in till I have more facts. I also would like to see some of the 'ECF experts' whose knowledge I greatly respect chime in here, none of which have posted here yet, which gives me some trepidation.
I see that Super_X has chimed in , and I'm awaiting his comments

Or you could just try it for yourself and make your own decision....LOL There isn't a single person in this thread that has tried it and says they prefer another wicking material - that should tell you something!

Today is the one month anniversary for this thread and we have broke 20,000 views!

Pretty considerable considering it didn't take off till 5-22, when abpigdoc, tbev, wienner, &Brianc1111 jumped in on a whim.. Thanks guys for taking a chance in the face of adversity.

Steam head actually found the cellucotton source we were searching for.. Only 7 days ago!!!!

Brian found it at Sally's beauty supply only 6 days ago!!

And the first full report on the cellucotton that day 6-02 - only 6 days ago.

This is CRAZY and so cool!

Really glad some people here have an open mind (even more so than me, and I consider myself pretty open-minded), because like you said, without them you woulda been vaping this amazing stuff all by yourself, lol.

Honestly, for the first couple weeks, I was scrolling right past this thread, probably thinking "... kinda ......s are over there vapin nylon lol". The longer the thread hung around, the more it prompted me to finally check it out... so glad I did!

I laughed when I read that! When I first saw the "Rayon" title, all I could think of was "Plastic leisure-suits"! (I actually did think rayon was a form of plastic, duh!) But as the thread kept popping up I couldn't resist reading. And there is no bigger sucker for a new idea than I.

Can't wait to try it!

there will always be naysayers on anything new.whether or not they have any proof at all or if they do it to make themselves look smart or cautious or whatever. reminds me of the people who bad mouth vaping.
from what ive seen so far. rayon is no more unsafe than anything else. i know its safer than silica.
until i see PROOF....i will continue to vape with rayon. its the best wick out there

I'm in the IN CROWD for once in my life. Ha Ha.

Like I said in that other thread I've been reading this thread on and off for the last 2+ days and when I saw you could get it at Sally's I googled Sally's and there are a bunch of them around the Atlanta area. One not 4 miles from my home and I had to go by the gas station I buy most of my gas at. Checked the hours of operation and guess what, they are open on Sundays. So ran out to get some Rayon and GAS.
And yes I already had that other GAS, Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
Vaping on it as I type.

Thank you JeremyR and all the others that tried it before me.

I especially liked the guy that was using cotton Rope and made a video about it. Saying he wouldn't try rayon because of the smell from the processing plant.

He better never touch paper as it is made using some of the same processes.

I smoked between 3 and 4 PAD for 42 years, so a little rayon doesn't scare me. I use KFL+ and get better flavor with rayon than with cotton. I like to vape mine until close to dry because I change flavors a lot. With cotton I had to be careful not to get a dry hit since that would choke a horse, but with rayon you can tell when a dry hit is on its way and can avoid it.

I use RDAs occasionally and found that I can drip much more juice at one time with rayon than with cotton. I can use longer wicks and still get great wicking to the coil. I change wicks much less often with rayon since it doesn't burn at the coil and I can change flavors easily without changing the wick.

Rayon scary? Not to me. :headbang:

I got started late. It was suggest I try E-cigs a few years ago but I wasn't ready. 2.5 months ago I was ready to Stop Smoking.

Yes I consider myself very lucky on at least two points.

1) I'm not smoking cigarettes.
2) I started vaping after all the BS was over with and the Good Stuff was a around.

Not sure if I had tried it 1-2 years ago whether I'd be a Non-Smoker today.
But like with other things it is One Day At A Time.
I'm not smoking cigarettes today.

Higher baby!

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk

I'm at 4.3 and I "THINK" it is getting better.

Have to give it more time.

By the way I used enough rayon that I had to twist it pretty tight to get in the 3/32 coil. I did fluff it up after I got it in and it did slide slightly.
