Did you burn test it to smell the smoke and see the ash?

Smoke will smell more like paper from rayon where as cotton smells more like leaves.

Rayon has a light grey, airy ash that will blow away easily in the wind. Cotton has a blacker heavier ash.

Obviously polyester will smell of plastic and chemicals as well as melt into a blob.

The pharmaceutical/bottle/KU is a dryer looking rayon. The balls are shinier and silkier. Sally's is in between.
I did burned them. Didn't investigate the smell. But the viscose burnt much mire aggressively and fully. The supposedly rayon burnt incompletely it was smoldering if that makes any sense.

However... I don't think i will be using it anyway. It looks, feels and performs just like cotton

Rayon does burn much faster. Cotton burns slower, the smoldering is from the proteins in the cotton. The protein content is one of the problems with a cotton. Protiens are the reason we don't use a wool or something.

It sounds like they are peddling cellucotton "cotton" version.. Dang people don't understand.. That was the issue with calling it cellucotton. People think of cotton.

Read the fda statement on it. It explains everything. This is essentially the same as the other rayons. We've already done this research in the beginning. It was the first thing people tried to throw out about rayon.

The rayon haters in that industry have already long ago been debunked in this thread, and by the fda, and major universities.

I'm not sure I follow - viscose becomes rayon a cellulose chain. Cellulose is organic. The fda defines rayon as being pure cellulose.

Perhaps I was misunderstood... I'm with you that it's safe and was shocked at some of what I was reading at the other places regarding the pons.

Cotton is organic, but you don't get to call all cotton 'organic' cotton. I agree, Rayon is pure cellulose... how you get the pure cellulose can be quite different, but isn't in itself going to change how it vapes... that's all about the fiber treatment and onward.

As far as viscose/organic, I was talking about the method... such as lyocel. I don't think we should call something from the lyocel method viscose, since viscose is also a method as well as a common term for rayon (since it was the #1 method). The lyocel method which only uses non-toxic and organic materials is what I meant by organic rayon. It's isn't just the cellulose that is from organic sources, but the chemical bath as well.

Either way...

Oh yes I was thinking you must be talking of lyocel/tencel.

I regular rayon is better. Sometimes the green way comes with a sacrifice of lower quality.

In the end rayon is cellulose the chemicals are removed in the process and its pure... Lyocell; actually I think it doesn't come out as clean.

Well I just pulled the trigger on the FEV VS from Focalecig they have them on for $15.80 at the moment.

And the painful wait begins...

Is there a good FEV thread that doesn't frown on non authentic users?

Awesome man your gonna love it!!

The FEV by Artur thread is all good I've been there from day one with my Clone. I've never been frowned on.. The clones are so 1:1 that there's hardly a difference .

I still stand by regular rayon being better. Sometimes the green way comes with a sacrifice of lower quality.

Sadly, they handle the treatment/finishing of the fiber differently creating the common Tencel 'thread-like' extra-long, straight and smooth fibers versus the style we are more used to with CelluCotton etc. :( I think what we want is what I suspect FiberFreaks did... lyocel method material production, viscose style finishing. Bistages!

I suspect Fiber Freaks worked with a pharmaceutical coil manufacturer or supplier like American Containers, which has a branch office about 80 miles from Jeremy (as the crow flies) in Lake Forest, IL:

Jeremy, you should talk to these guys and tell them you're in the Research & Development phase of using the material from pharmaceutical rayon coils for wicking material for a new start-up company, [insert name], in the growing electronic cigarette industry (All absolutely true!) and see if they will send you some free samples of different densities. It will work. Trust me. It's one of the sorts of things I did professionally for ~30 years. I would do it myself, if I wanted to give Fiber Freaks a run for their money, but I don't want to. It would be too much like work and I'm enjoying my retirement.

I think I will indeed!

Your excellent thread here had me switch over to Rayon, which has been perfect! Now with your high praise of the FEV's, it is a given that this will be a great tank as well. Over in the iStick thread I asked ccwaters for a list of his best atty's and he has the VS as number 2 on that list with the Erlkonigin Nano in top spot. I appears that those who have FEV's love them, and I hope to share in that love as well! :D

I hate waiting for vape mail, so I will go over and give the FEV thread a good read and subscribe.
Many thanks Jeremy!
